Not the first time I have stayed at the France hotel and will not be the last :-) Its in a great location about 5-10 mins walk from central station just on the edge of china town and a 2 min walk from the red light area its clean and also has a lift to all floors thats fab coz let me tell you the stairs in other hotels ive stayed in when in Amsterdam are a killer when youve had a beer or 2 lol also and the Irish Bar next door is great for food and a chat befor you had off in to the city ....

 "Nice location"
Nice location, easy to find and very connected to everything you would need.Room walls and doors are very thin, you can listen neighbors tv perfectly and when they close their door feels like someone is getting in your room. Same with room services.Breakfast is not in the hotel but in the close Irish Pub..

 "France Hotel"
Hotel was good value, breakfast was very good in the Irish Bar next door. Carpets in the hotel hallways could do with up -dating as they were fairly stained. The room was clean, but house keeping over do the air freshener. Staff were pleasant.

Hotel great location, rooms very tired and depressing!! Defo not recommended for couples who want a nice hotel. Staff were not very approachable, all this was ok as away wiv friends on hen do!

 "France Hotel stay"
The hotel was clean and basic. it was quiet. the breakfast was also good. The hotel is located in an interesting area and it was most convenient to the railway station and a good place to drop into after a long trip.

 "Right in the center"
This hotel is right in the center of Amsterdam. It was easy to walk around and to find always the way back. Parking near the hotel are really expensive (it's so overall), but hotel stuff provides a solution to cut off parking fees.

excellent location but very average hotel because.great for the location because near the train station, in Chinatown (great quarter)!!But it was dirty, bathroom had an unpleasant smelling and was dirty.It was noisy because very bad insulated.The staff was very unpleasant

 "football trip"
the hotel was a great location, was a little difficult to find at first, so i would reccomend you takea good look on google earth first, anyway its directly behind the large church in dam square.the room we stayed in was pretty basic but it did for us.would of liked to of tried the irish bar more,which was next door to the hotel, this is also were you go for breafast, which to be fair was pretty good considering it was a continental one.

 "The hotel was what I expected it to be"
The hotel is in an amazing location! Really close to all the major attractions in Amsterdam! Breakfast was really nice.The receptionist was helpfully with regards to directions however he was a bit delayed with sorting out our room.All in all, good hotel for the price you pay ;)

 "We were right.....it was okay"
Having read all the reviews before we booked and read that this was 'bed bug city' we emailed the manager and said we had booked on the proviso that we had the best double room, a good shower, a new bed and a window, as promised by the Manager replying to all the reviews.On arrival, Faoud on reception allowed me to go and look at the rooms he could allocate to us. The first room was two single beds joined together which makes a super kingsize.I examined the mattresses and they looked new. The decor was modern. There were two windows which did not throw much light as they were just light shaft down from the roof. The 2nd room was a smaller, same size beds, but a window. However the window was opaque, so no view anyway. We opted for the first room, 208 and it was fine. Bad points:Little bit noisy on the Saturday night with people going to bed late, or early in the morningBit dark in the roomOnly 10 rooms in the hotel have windows, but the majority of hotels in the centre are like thisTowels a little bit smallGood points:Location very central two minutes from great restaurants, coffee bars and red light district.Beds are very comfortableBed linen crisp and cleanShower was amazing powerful and very hotBreakfast, next door at Molly Malones, was excellent, served by a lovely guy from Perth,W.AWe paid £236 euros including tax for 3 nights inc breakfast. Our friends paid 350 euros for a small double room which had the tiniest bed and they could hardly get around the room.. and no breakfast.If you want somewhere which is good value,very central and don't mind not having a window..book now.
