The only good thing I can say about this hotel was its location. The service was unfriendly, there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room - only a machine in the lobby that charged $1 for anything other than black coffee. And the machine was turned off at night, so only hot water and tea bags were available. I wanted tea with milk but was told there was no milk. There was a fridge behind the counter - how hard would it be to have some milk available? The sheets and towels were wafer-thin, as were the walls. I had read on Trip Advisor that this was a "quaint, older style hotel" - we thought it was more like a youth hostel.

Pros: Clean and comfortable hotel at a reasonable price. just two blocks up the hill from union square. highly recommended.

Pros: Well location and friendly staff.but i won't recommend it for a romantic sf vacation.

Pros: 1. the room is very clean.
2. location is excellent.
3. the staff in front desk is very friendly.
Cons: 1. the room is small comparing to other hotels we had stayed,
2. the tv in our room had very loud humming sound, we contacted the front desk, but they didn't fix it when we stayed there in 4 days.
3. the bath tub is very small, you can not turn around without touch the shower curtain.

Cons: I booked a room with 2 double beds, but when i arrived i was told all they had was a room with one bed....my travel partner had to sleep on a very uncomfortable cot that they wheeled in.

Pros: Wonderful, quiet, clean room & bathroom with great shower. excellent check-in & check-out experience. two mac computers in lobby with free print-out of boarding passes. very pleasantly surprised after initial misunderstanding.
Cons: Only one. we called the day before to confirm our reservation and they said they had none listed under my name. the next morning i called back with the confirmation number and they found the reservation.

Pros: The hotel's central location and the fact that i could have my rental car in the garage directly across the street was excellent. the room was quite, clean and an adequate size and the bed was comfortable. bathroom was modern.
