Hotel Eliseo Rom    

Before starting I want to specify that usually I am not a big complainer, and I understand that sometimes things are not perfect, and in Italy a four star hotel is a 3 stars hotel. But even if you are a 3 star hotel cleanliness , room as per description and furniture in good conditions are a mustWe arrived at hotel Eliseo thursday june 28th around 7.00pm. We were assigned our double room as per our reservation, however it looked a lot smaller than 19 sqare meter (200sq feet) as described on the hotel site . The space between the wall and the bed was the size of a small night stand, on the other side of the bed the space was the size of the tiny night stand and the washroom door. At the foot of the bed there was the desk a small desk attached to the wall where we could only fit the computer and maybe a file and nothing more. We were settling in when we realised that even if we had set the air conditionning the air was not cooling at all, and I started remembering the negative reviews I had read about th conditionning. I went to the lobby to check and they confirmed that the air conditionning was not working. They said that it would take a few days to fix the problem because friday the 29th was a holyday in Rome and than it was saturday and sunday, so they doubted it would be fixed before monday. we were leaving on sunday. They offered us and the other couple travelling with us to move to an other hotel of their chain hotel. We moved into the Viminale supposidely 4star hotel. When I got in the small lobby I was worried about the rooms we would be given. The couches at reception area were worn out and dirty, in the lobby area they were as worn out ans as dirty ,We were assigned a room on the 4th floor very spacious but not very clean, the knob areas of our white doors were totally black. The original floors were probably of wood now covered of carpeting and every step it would squeek. In the washroom every time someone in the hotel flushed or showered you would have a guirgle come out of our toilet bowl, the air conditionning was at a minimum at night we had to sleep on top of the sheet because of the heat. The rest of the day we were out so it did not really matter but the night was very hot.the only positive point was the lady working at the breakfest she would serve us our cappucino every morning, the breakfest choice was very poor. Also the man at the reception working the evening shift was very helpfull

Pros: Hotel was exactly as described. just up the hill from the spanish steps and right next to a tube station. good restaurants in abundance in via veneto. nice litle bar in hotel and a friendly/helpful barman. breakfast room great on 6th floor with views over the park.
Cons: The room walls a bit thin and room quite small

Pros: Ideal location,easy walk to many sights. quiet comfortable room. wonderful breakfast room with views over to st peters in morning sunshine.

Pros: Very close to the monuments , staff very helpful
Cons: When we arrived the room towels were very dirty and the dust bin had some garbage. we told it to the reception and they changed it immediately and the lady that was responsible for the cleaning was very sorry. the other days everything was clean and tidy

Cons: The quality of our room did not worth the money paid.

Pros: Good position to enable easy access to all the historical sites without the need to use taxi bus metro or even train to view them
Cons: Decor is very tired and hotel is in need of updating although 4* would say this is more 2/3* .when paying the bill it came to more than originally asked for and quoted on website ,even tho did not have anything extra or different to what we originally asked for

Pros: Very friendly staff.great views from sixth floor rooms of the city. clean tidy throughout would stay again.
Cons: The bar was closed during the day and one of our party was unwell and we could not get them tea or coffee but the drinks in the mini bar were reasonably priced.

Pros: Helpful staff.
Cons: No free wifi, the rooms were small.

Pros: Παρόλο που το δωμάτιο ήταν μικρότερο από το αναμενόμενο ήταν πάντα καθαρό, με μεγάλο μπάνιο (σπάνιο για τα ξενοδοχεία αυτής της κατηγορίας στη Ρώμη), τέλειο πρωινό μπουφέ με φανταστική θέα στο πάρκο. Ίσως από τις καλύτερες επιλογές για διαμονή στη Ρώμη για όσους δεν θέλουν να πληρλωσουν πολλά! Λίγα μέτρα μακριά από το σταθμό του μετρό και δίπλα σε ένα από τα ομορφότερα πάρκα της Ευρώπης!
Cons: Αν και το δωμάτιο ήταν σχετικά μικρότερο απ' όσο δείχνουν οι φωτογραφίες, παρόλα αυτά ήταν το τελευταίο πράγμα που μας απασχόλησε καθ' όλη την εβδομάδα της διαμονής μας.

Pros: Hotel is in a very good location and the service and staff were excellent, red city tour bus (stop 12) opposite hotel, restaurants close
Cons: Weather very hot and ac not very efficient

Pros: Kind, helpful staff.
Cons: Poop, not fresh breakfast.

Pros: Hotel staff very friendley and helpful. breakfast more than adequate. breakfast room on the room the best feature of the hotel.
Cons: Only complaint is the traffic noise, we stayed in one of the rooms at the front of the hotel, hard to get an afternnon kip.

Pros: Located pretty close to metro for spanish steps. centrally located. not to far from hard rock cafe. nice hotel and staff. decent breakfast for free. had air conditioning. definately not a 4 star hotel according to us standards, but a decent place to stay for anyone not looking to spend a fortune.
Cons: The bar had no ice for 4 days.

Pros: The best future is the position which is excellent
Cons: The hotel needs urgent remodeling and reconstruction . the air conditioning very poor which is important in july

Pros: Staff very helpful and courteous
Cons: Air conditioning was not good
