 "A Welcome Respite"
Our arrival was unanounced but the reception staff were very warm & welcoming. Its a nice hotel, with a very grand stair case. The hotel is located in a qiuieter area of city & provided a welcome respite from the energy & excitement of HCMC. All the main atttractions are a relative short walk away, with a variety of places to eat, from the Hard Rock Cafe just around the corner, to a typically Vietnamese Noodle cafe just along the street, past the pizza & sushi places. All the main city attractions are about a 15 / 20 min walk away to thhe river (heading South), in another direction Ben Than Market (past the Rex Hotel) & about the same distance to the Reunification Palace & War Remmanents Museum. The Zoo & botanical gardens are the same sort of distance but to the east of the city. There's a supermaarkeet in the Robinsons shopping mall where you can by the essentials ...beer!!The Hotel staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was spacious & clean with all amenities & offered a good view over the city. We had a very peacefull stay whilst we were there & were not disturbed at nightime. The daily breakfast was very good offering either Asian or Western style meals with fresh fruit. The airport is about 30 min away. Whilst the hotel & room was airconditioned, for some reason (it wasn't a major issue) the ensuite was not, but the shower had hot water which was most welcome after several weeks in Thailand without any. All in all its a nice comfortable hotel, the staff are friendly & polite & is well worth a visit.
