Hotel Viennese Roma    

I stayed in this hotel due to some recommendations which I read online. I was very very pleased with the stay as my wife and I had easy access to most of the tourist attractions, easy access to wifi in the room, super friendly staff once you get to know them and I should say, the Italians are really very polite and humble people. We will come back to stay here without doubt!!!

Good location but looks like a dungeon at 1st glance rooms not to bad but no space to unpack bathroom was a dump smelt like crap don't spend your money here you will be very dissapointed we was a family of 10 took 2 family rooms the breakfast was 1 croissant & a coffee at a nearby cafe they got into an argument with us by giving us 7 croissants & saying they give us 10 calling us liers nearly rnded up physical really rude Chinese staff at cafe made to feel like they was doing us a favour never been treated so badly anywere on our holidays absolutely ruined it for us cost us almost 400 euros for 2 nights in family room the size no more than 10ft by 10ft

After an arduous trudge up 4 flights of narrow steps we were introduced into a tiny room which smelled of cigarettes and had bits of ? on the bedspreads. We decided not to stay but the manager talked us into another room. I double checked that the safe worked before putting things in it then we went off. Upon our return not only was our door wide open but one of my bags had open zips (I never leave them open) and then when I tried to open the safe it wouldn't work! I spoke to the manager who fiddled with the safe, then said "Broken" and dashed out. When I tried again it opened, I retrieved our stuff then left, having to first pay for the nights accommodation without actually staying. Found somewhere much better for a fraction more money.

Firstly I have to say that the hotel is not directly on Via Marsala but in a side street just off it. The location is however good, easy to find and ideal if you are arriving by train or by bus from the airport, just a 2 minute walk across the street. Hotel is really an apartment with about 8 rooms up on the 4th floor in a building which hosts about 6 other "hotels" like this. Small lift, just big enough for 2 people with a case each will take you up .I arrived early on the first day and when i got there the room was not quite ready, i was however given the opportunity to put my bag into the room and get changed/ freshen up and check in and get my keys. The room was big enough for 2 people, big double bed, TV up on the wall, laptop, little bathroom and quite a big entrance area with wardrobe and luggage storage. The time you will spend in the room is probably minimal anyway so good enough. Our room was facing inwards so was pretty quiet at night too even with the window open. You will probably hear the people in the room next to you more , walls seem pretty thin. but again not a big issue. Rooms have a ceiling fan and air con which is good in the summer. You don't get to see the staff much, there was a guy when i checked in and throughout our stay I only saw the owner, Lina I think, most mornings or in the evening making the complimentary tea for the guests. For your breakfast you will get a voucher for a pastry and coffee in a little cafe ownstairs .Pastries are fresh and coffee is okay to start your morning. The rooms are cleaned daily and towels are refreshed. Checking out was easy enough, I paid the night before leaving as my friend stayed an extra night. They mentioned i had to pay with tax but I was able to show them my confirmation from "Easytobook" which had included the tax in the total and all was okay. They do mention on some websites that they will charge you an extra 5% for paying by credit card, none of this was mentioned however when I paid and I was not charged more then I should have been. The € 2.00 per person per day city tax (?) can be paid in cash when you leave. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Rooms felt a bit pricey for what they are but I guess Rome in high season is pretty expensive. Would definitely stay there again if in Rome and recommend to others.

Room no 5. Nothing works in the room.computer, wi fiHot water, Service of Manager and front office lady is hopeless.Difficult to read the tiny name board of the hotelIn the first day night and wasted time on the Street waiting for the intercom to be answered

I won't choose to stay here again. The hotel was very hard to find. I booked for two nights and explained in the booking that I wouldn't arrive until next morning from Australia but booked for two nights so I could check in immediately upon arrival. I arrived and my room was not available. They did however allow me to check in after 12 and only charged me one night. The sttaff were friendly. The room was tiny, although clean. There was warm water when i checked in but no hot water in the morning - at least none after running the shower for nearly 10 minutes! The breakfast was included from a nearby cafe - coffee and pastry only, but good coffee.

Most of the stay was ok but wasnt happy that we were woken at 7 o'clock in the morning by plates clashing and people eating breakfast. Our room was located just outside the dining area. However the staff were very polite.

Pros: The room was not that good.we ask about the showerhead was not working right...floor had so dust on it
Cons: We ask for wake up call do not get it...we check time they say get check in was not time they say to us..we check late in morning..

Pros: Very good, there have sky, pc, dvd and plasma tv, the stafs are excelents and the location exceptional

Pros: The staff was very pleasant and helpful. the room facilities in general were very good, things were new, clean, not broken, there was a computer with the internet provided, but it was soooo small we could barely move (we lived 3 in a room for max 2 people).
and we enjoyed our breakfast.
Cons: We booked the room for 3 nights, but at the arrival we we told that we should spend the first night in the other hotel, because of some "technical issues". it messed our plans a bit, because we had to go to another place with our bags, unpack, pack, then unpack again...
also, as i mentioned before, the room was really too small and not comfortable because of this. we could also hear our neighbors showering and using the sink, which was quite loud, because the pipes were next to our walls. luckily, they didn't use it in the night time.
but still, the first night at this hotel was quite horrible actually, we couldn't sleep because of the noise other people living in the hotel were making (our room was just next to the entrance/exit door), they were leaving, entering, closing the door with noise, speaking loudly all the night... the next night was ok, so i guess it's the matter of the behavior of your neighbors.
well, but that's a 1 star hotel, although the price was not so low.

Pros: The location is superb,just in front of termini station, the room is clean, the bed is big, the facilities excellent, there is laptop with free wifi in the room, the dvd movies free of charge in the room. superb!

Pros: The location is very near to termini station. near supermarket, restaurant etc. the location is perfect. only that the plus point.
Cons: I really do not recommend this hotel to anybody. i did not know that this hotel had several branches, and my luggages were brought to other viennese hotel and the location was altogether with other hotels in the same building. there's no information about this. my sad story when stayed at this hotel was as followed (as i don't want other guest to have the same experience) :

when i came to viennese hotel on 1 sept to deposit my luggages,(cause i want to go to padre pio in rotondo, i will check in on 2 sept) the hotel staff said that i couldn't deposit luggages if i wasn't registered as the guest's hotel.
so, i booked 1 room cost 40 euro for 1 night, so the luggages could be deposit there. also, check in at this hotel stated at 7.00 am, that was why i chose this hotel, cause i would be back on 2 sept at 6.30 am from rotondo. i thought i could take a bath first before i went to vatican museum in the morning, (i took euro star train to rotondo and came back on 2 sept morning). but, all lies!!!
i had already told the hotel staff that we would be back tomorrow at 6.30 am, and take a bath at the 40 euro room, if our 2 booked rooms hadn't ready yet.
to our surprised, when i and 3 friends came to viennese hotel at 2 sept at 6.30 am, the hotel's door was locked!! we couldn't get inside! this is my first experience when stayed at international hotels worldwide, that the hotel was not open 24 hours! i only could talk by pushing the button in front of the hotel's door to a nightguard who didn't know anything. he said our luggages were delivered to another hotel and he didn't have any keys. the hotel staff would only present at 09.00 am!!! why the hotel lied that check in at 7.00 am if the staff came at 9.00 am???
so, 4 of us really felt disappointed. cannot take a bath, cannot change any clothes, cannot brush our teeth. what's the purpose we paid 40 euro for the room if we couldn't use it? better we deposit at termini station instead!!
actually we wanted to cancel our 2 rooms (single & triple rooms) and change to other hotels nearby. but other hotels were fully booked, so we could't change.
please do not stay at this hotel. the lift was old, everything was unpleasant. i really do not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Pros: Hotel staff were very friendly
Cons: The air conditioner was not functioning very well. thus making the stay in rome hot for us

Pros: Convenient location and able to get five in a room
Cons: Tea only available after lunch

Pros: It was a room!!
Cons: The room was pokey, small and no natural light. the hotel advertised that it's rooms were sound proof. the room we stayed in was everything but. you could hear the people in the other rooms fighting and everytime someone flushed a toilet or turned on water you could hear it. on a scale of 1-10 i couldn't give the room anymore than 1 or 2. it certainly wasn't what the site let us to beleive it was. the only positive was that it was accross the road from the termini station. but if you do stay here don't follow the directions on the website on how to find the hotel, just exit the station by the main exit and keep right go across the rod and the hotel will be justdown the street on your right.
