"Good service but poor cleaning"

The Hotel is well located and the staff was very friendly and helpful but the twin room (especially sheets and pillows) was really dirty. Positive points are that the reception provides a 24hrs service (coffee, tea, water always available) and the city centre is only 10 mins walking.

"Satisfied"

Staff was ok,seemed abit uninterested, but did help.Rooms were ok,good bathroom&shower! Thin walls,so you heard everything from the hallway and the other rooms!5 minute walk to Leidseplein. Quiet neighbourhood.

"bad night sleep"

the room was very hot (due to hot pipelines coming through for other rooms). You could hear a lot of noise on the street and we could hear every other guest come in at night and leave in the morning. We were awake very early as well because of the noise in the hallway and stairs.

"Trip with friends"

This hotel was Ideal as we were mainly just needing somewhere to sleep at night, the rooms were basic but very clean and ideal for short stays All staff who I dealt with were polite and efficient. We enjoyed our stay here

"Very comfortable hotel for trips"

I'd like to recommend this hotel for everybody. Very nice and cosy room, suitable location and good service. Thanks a lot! There is a citymap and all information about Awsterdam and supermarkets also about all restaurants and cafes.

"Short stay in Amsterdam"

Loved the Quentin. We booked on line using the comments of previous guests to help us decide which place to book. The Quentin is well located with public transport close by though we found ourselves walking into the Centrum because there was so much to see the the distance is not so great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast sustained us until dinner time!!! Tasty too. The rooms are small but clean. Vondelpark is only metres away and a real treat. all in all a great place to stay. Would book again whenever we are back in Amsterdam.

"excellent stay"

We booked this hotel as it was cheaper than the others in Amsterdam so therefore was not expecting much , However we were very pleasantly surprised , the hotel is in a great location just out of all the hustle and bustle , the rooms were basic but very clean the reception staff were extremely helpful, friendly and polite , overall it was an excellent stay and hope to return again :)

"good way for travelling alone"

Good and clean hotel, a little bit too noisy during the night (people arriving and leaving), and no breakfast included even if quite expensive. You cn ask for a bike but it's more expensive than other places. Very good position but hard to find at beginning. Very very close to museum and parks and to the principal street of Amsterdam (Leid).Overall, it's pretty ok

"Good location, friendly staff but small cramped room"

The hotel's situated in a great area of Amsterdam - we loved being able to just walk out the door and get straight in to exploring. Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, our room wasn't of the quality we had expected to get considering how expensive it was. The room was cramped and awkward - you couldn't open the window easily due to the bed taking up most of the room. Also, it didn't help that our room was situated on the very top floor of many steep stairs (definitely not a climb for the faint hearted!) The "double bed" seemed to be just two single beds strapped together, which was quite uncomfortable at times. The bathroom was the worst thing about the room - it was dingy and made us both feel very claustrophobic. It was in what seemed to be a converted cupboard! the shower also had no definition from the rest of the bathroom resulting in a wet soapy floor whenever either of us used it. Unfortunately breakfast was also disappointing - very basic and bland. Overall, I didn't particularly enjoy staying at the Quentin England Hotel for comfort, but for convenience it was quite good.

"not so happy"

they wanted us to pay more than a double price for breakfast.They said that it easytobook to blame because they don't update the side. I don't believe it. I have sent a message to customer services about this. I was not amused about it. Besides that the bread was very old and we had to make the table ready for breakfast ourselves.

"Basic hotel in a good location"

We stayed at the hotel for four nights and had a perfectly good stay. If you're wanting to use this hotel as a place to sleep which is in a good location, then it is a fine choice. If you were actually planning on relaxing in the room, you would probably want to go somewhere a bit more upmarket, as the rooms are very basic and there seems to be quite a lot of noise coming from people outside despite it being quite a residential area. If you have any problems with walking up stairs, you may want to try and avoid staying on the third floor as they are partcularly narrow and steep to climb.Overall, it's a basic hotel and if you're happy to roam the streets of Amsterdam (with a good map, you need a good map!) then it's in a good location. Would stay here again.

"Quentin review"

The shower drains in both our rooms were completely blocked so we had a major overflow problem in the bathrooms. The towels were like tea-towels, so tiny you could barely dry yourself. The breakfast room did not sit enough people and lots had to wait for a turn to eat. There was no fruit at all at breakfast - not even tinned fruit which would have been better than nothing.

"Dissapointing"

We were very disappointed with our stay in this hotel even though we are not picky persons. To be honest, our room was horrible. We got a room in a basement, so there was only a tiny window that was almost out of the reach. The room was very hot and EXREMELY noisy because of strange sounds that came through the walls (it sounded like an aeroplane engine). Also when we returned from the city centre in the middle of the night, we found a small bugs near the bed...so, I think that the only positive thing was a friendly staff. We are sorry for this negative comment, it is the first one we gave so far, and hopefully also the last one. We have not had a chance to see other rooms but we would recommend choosing rooms that are not placed in the basement.

"The Quentin england Hotel"

When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the guy on the reception, we were shown to our room which was room 26. I found the room quite good for the money comfy clean bed small en-suite with very good shower super clean towels and toilet was spotless, but however I felt that the cleaning standards could be much better due to warn dirty carpet and hoovering edges etc. was quite poor. I also found mold on the en suite ceeling. But dont let this put anyone off as it was my first experiance of Amsterdam and I will be back and will be staying in the Quentin England again and have and will recomend the wee hotel to anyone.

Very comfortable hotel for trips

Located in the quiet street Roemer Visscherstraat, The Quentin England Hotel Amsterdam offers a heaven of peace right in the city centre.
