 "5 Star Price for 3 Star Quality"
For location you cant fault the hotel. The reception is friendly and lobby clean and modern. We were offered a room overlooking the main square or the canal to the rear, we took the canal to the rear [idyllic, relaxing aesthetic] that was a mistake! [should have realised when there was ear plugs next to the bed]. The noise and the smell was a issue, the corridor on the ground floor also smelt strongly of foul water. Our room was not made up on one day and we needed to go and ask for clean towels and soap. Breakfast and the staff were great. I think it only lacks more professionalism, a good deep clean [rooms and corridors] and some honest communication re what you will get.and experience.

 "A tasteful hotel in a somewhat seedy city"
We only stayed in the NH Barbizonhotel for 1 night after a cruise but they gave us the room till 5 on our day of our departure without us asking. The staff could not have been more helpfulThe rooms were spacious beautifully clean and well equiped They were a bit noisy on a night but I think you would be hard pushed in Amsterdam to find a room that you could not hear traffic or peopleThe location was excellent straight opposite the train station and right in the heart of the cityI would certainly reccomend this hotel to anyone who asked but unfortunately I cannot say the same for Amsterdam where I found the seedy side overpowered beatiful arhitecture and pleasant walks

Great location to take in the new year celebrations , next to the rail station and edge of the old town. We only stayed in the city for a few hours on route to a cruise holiday.Very comfy hotel, warm and helpful reception on arrival

Pros: The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to the station and all the bars and restaurants. we really enjoyed the late check out and the fantastic breakfast.
Cons: My only criticism is that our room was quite dated and tired and could benefit from a refurbishment.

Pros: Our experience at the barbizon hotel was absolutely perfect...great location,great room,very friendly staff,1st night of a 3 night stay had a small double bed,but when i asked for a bigger bed,was given a option of a larger bedroom instantly,thank you.....would recommend the hotel to anyone,very positive experience,will definately stay again....
Cons: Not so much the hotel but the fact that the price did not reflect that the breakfast wasnt inclusive......dissapointing.....

Pros: Quick check-in and check-out. very efficient, friendly and knowledegable staff. excellent room service. big room, extremely clean, well-equipped. wonderful magazines on amsterdam which was very informative. late check-out on sundays fantastic add-on!
Cons: It was expensive. 156 euros for a single room is really steep.

The hotel is located in the city centre of Amsterdam, in front of the Central Station and close to the Dam Square.

NH Barbizon Palace is located opposite Amsterdam’s Central Station. From hotel NH Barbizon Palace Amsterdam you will reach the Anne Frank House in ten minutes. Dam square is at five minutes walking distance whereas the Van Gogh Museum and the Heineken Breweries can be reached by tram in 15 minutes. Behind the hotel you will find the oldest quarter in Amsterdam with the Red Light District and Chinatown. The RAI Congress Centre can be reached by tram in 25 minutes.

The hotel is – amongst other things – composed of nineteen 17th century houses and a 15th century chapel. NH Barbizon Palace Amsterdam has its own fitness area and sauna which can be used by the guests (charged). Furthermore the hotel has its own landing-stage for the water taxi to moor and offers complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access throughout.

The lobby is quite impressive with its high ceilings and marble pillars, where you will find the concierge-desk and any information to plan a city, business or shopping trip.
