 "Dissappointed by Hotel Iris"
I would really not stay in hotel Iris ever again or recommend this hotel to anyone. Had we known at the time of booking that the hotel was in this condition and the staff so unfriendly we would never have booked to stay at this hotel. This made our last few days in Amsterdam the most unpleasant days of our stay. The hotel smells like you living in a toilet. We were so sick after spending a night in your hotel and are still trying to recover. The hotel was cold, when we asked the staff to turn on the heaters as the heaters were off and only on for about 2 hours of our entire stay there, the staff advised that the heating is on, they will turn it up but nothing happened. Our tv was broken in our room. Beds were uncomfortable. But most of all the entire hotel smelled terrible. It was so unhygienic for the amount of money we paid to stay there, we had stayed in a cheaper hotel in Amsterdam a few days before checking in at Hotel Iris and it was 100% nicer than Hotel Iris. We wanted to cancel, but unfortunately could not.On the day of check in we arrived a few hours early with all our luggage and were so tired from the travelling but the staff refused to assist us till check in time, we were not even allowed to sit in the breakfast area until check in time or just to keep warm till it was time to check in, I quote when asked if we could sit in the sitting area staff mentioned "We not allowed to, its not allowed". So we had to wait in the cold outside the hotel for 2 hours until check in. Then we get in to our room, freezing cold and the heaters are not on and the tv was not working. Terrible stay. I dont even want to mention anything more cause I am still so disappointed with our stay at hotel Iris. I have to admit its the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

 "great stay and great location"
me and my wife stayed at hotel IRIS in november 2012 for 3 days. It is a great budget hotel with clean bathroom and small but clean room. breakfast was good for the price we paid. there always was orange juice, coffee, tea, cereals and toast for breakfast. if go to amsterdam again I'll stay in this hotel or hotel MAX.

"Double Bed Request simply means you'd like one, in no way means you'll get one Hotel informed me"
My Biggest Gripe was this site allows you to select a DOUBLE BED, which does not mean you'll get one. According to Hotel reception you are simply selecting a preference and if possible you'll get one. This is definately not clear on the booking information, nor could the receptionist show me where this was implied or otherwise on my booking confirmation instead he blamed Easy to Book. com The hotel was cheap, convenient and ok for the price paid. Very good shower, everything else basic. Walls very thin, Hotel Iris now has breakfast facility in its hotel and no need to walk to Hotel Max. If you are on a budget LIDL is literally 300 yards away. For those late mornings when you have missed breakfast (no tea making facilities in room) you can skip over to Lidls and for a 50c coin get a decent cup of coffee from the machine.

 "Amsterdams finest."
These guys took care of everything. Small twin room with our own shower, toilet and tv. Breakfast in the morning was all taken care. Everything is in walking distance. I have no bad words to say. cheers

 "Very good"
Very good for 2-star hotel:clean rooms, very nice personnel, good breakfast & location. The only problem-there is no curtain in the bathroom so it's all wet after taking shower. But in general it's perfect value for such price.

 "lovely place"
I have visited Amsterdam on a number of occassions over the years and have stayed in various places, this one was one of the best for the price, the staff are very friendly and are on assitance to any quiries you may have, on arrival the gentleman who took our bookings was very helpful in giving us the lowdown of the places to go and see, the breakfast was continential and very good too, a reccomendation to fellow travelers to the city...have a good stay, i will defo go back :)

 "A pleasant stay indeed !"
The hotel is indeed a very good one with all newly refurbished facilities and rooms. I like it where it has a TV hung on top of the wall, facing the beds, which is of the most comfortable position when you're lying on the bed. Also wifi is provided free in all rooms, and it is of considerable fast speed for surfing and email. Everything in the room is pretty clean and tidy, and the place is quiet at night so you don't have to worry about noisy streets that may disturb your sleep. It is about 10 minutes walk to the nearest metro (Weesperplein), not very far actually but it was to me, somewhat far when I was feeling so tired after a day out and especially the weather was quite hot during my stay. Of course on the other hand the location is quite near to Heineken Experience where there is only 2 stops away by tram. One minor hassle is that you actually have to walk another 400m approx. to Hotel Max for your breakfast, and also for checking in and out. This may be a little inconvenient when you are not familiar with the direction around, and when you are tired and are urging for a rest in the hotel, but you ended up have to walk another few hundreds meters to check in. Fortunately the receptionist is very nice and friendly ! But the reception is not 24hours ! So if you're taking late flight, be sure you let them know in advance or you might not have a room to stay for that night ! Another minor problem is that there was some noisy construction sounds during my stay because there was construction work going on next to the hotel, which was in fact just next to my room. Anyway it wasn't really that loud to actually annoy me so I did not complain about it since it wasn't the fault of the hotel.Despite those minor hassles mentioned above, overall it was a pleasant 4 nights stay indeed during my holiday to Amsterdam !
