 "don't go here"
The only good thing was the location, the room was very small and pretty dirty. No one cleaned it for 3 days. Definetely not a good place to stay, the price compared to quality is absolutely unjustified. Just choose another place

 "Dirty and expensive"
2€ a can of soda, all is expensive in this hotel... The room was dirty, traces of vomits on the wall beside the beds, we normally reserved a room with 4 simple beds, and it was bunk beds.. Bathroom was the worst : the sink was broken, no door at the shower (all the water on the floor and no evacuation...) only the bedding was clean. Was a trip of friends, so as the bed was clean, and it was a little table with chairs in the room, it was nice. But for the low comfort, it was exorbitant. 160€ for one night included the tax.

"There's budget and then there's the Il Giardino..."
I know what you're going to say: "Well what do you expect for 20 Euros a night?!" and you'd be right of course, but hear me out...I booked this hotel because 6 of us were attending a dance music festival in Amsterdam so my thinking was that we'd only really need a place to crash, wash and securely store our stuff so quality and aesthetics were not high up on the list of priorities at all! Price, convenience and location certainly were and on all three metrics, the Il Giardino fitted the bill. It's a short walk from Centraal Station, within easy reach of all the main... "attractions" and it's the cheapest I could find. However...When we first arrived, I was a little surprised to find that 'reception' was behind a glass food display cabinet. You see 'reception' was also where you ordered your food because the hotel doubled as a kebab shop! At this point, suspicions were starting to be aroused but I reserved further judgements until I saw the rooms. Check in was fairly painless and once keys were distributed, off we went to our rooms. The first shock we discovered was that the toilet and shower room for the twin room was outside the room and accessible to anyone on the hallway. We also discovered that the light didn't work in the toilet so one was forced to sit down whether one needed (or wanted) to or not! The next shock was in our main room (for the 4 of us) the smell of sewage almost overwhelmed us as we walked in. There must have been either an open drain or a broken pipe because the stench was unlike anything I'd smelt outside of a developing country. The third surprise was that the bed configuration was a child's bunk bed, a single bed and a 'Z' bed, totally unsuitable for 4 adults. To his credit, the manager didn't try to argue about the smell or beds; despite telling us he was fully booked he moved us to a room at the front of the hotel. OK, it was smaller and it only contained a double and one single bed, but it was warm (OK boiling hot!) and the shower/loo was clean (although the shower and loo faced each other within the 'wetroom'). The bedding was clean although annoyingly they kept the plastic wrapping around the bed bases so that every time you moved the bed made a rustling sound! So overall, a pretty mixed experience! The bedding is clean, staff are friendly and it's very easy to find but the rooms are shabby, the carpets are in need of a deep clean and there are way too many scary looking electric wires hanging around. 1* budget+!

"Third class hotel....on paying 100plus euro per night........"
I don't recommend any others for this hotel.- No daily room cleaning service. Even don't change the towels- Breakfast no good. Same stuff for three days...-Price is very high compare to others. I spent three nights which i booked online. Later i moved another hotel which is cheaper than this hotel and very good service, very good room, very good breakfast......- Only good point is ... It is very close to central railway station.......

 "Dreadful"
good location near central station. allowed us to leave bags in the kitchen, and we returned later to check in. Not impressed by the standard of cleanliness, stair carpet very dirty, and smelly , walls stained and bedroom and bathroom came with tins of air freshener. Walls stained with ?? Hairs in the shower tray. Smell of urine in the room. We left the room and secured alternative hotel, returning to collect our bags an hour later, so can't comment on the service and sleep .

 "Quality/Price Relationship"
The hotel was very well located, however, it semmed to us quite expensive given the conditions of the place. The bed we share was quite small and the room service was not included. We paid 50 eur/ night!Despite those factors, we did have internet in our room and breakfast was very good.

 "Too noisey"
Ideally situated by Central Station so hence the expensive price for what it is.Outside the hotel is a very busy traffic lighted junction and the traffic is relentless. So not good if you actually want to sleep. The staff were helpfull, the bedding clean but the room it was in need of decorating/updating.The room is something you'd find in a Blackpool back street run down hotel. The walk in shower/toilet was adequate.Like I said, the big plus is the location and that's the only plus really.

 "Stay in Amsterdam"
The name of the hotel is Il Giardino (which in Italian means the garden), there was no garden as far as the eye could see.Arriving to the hotel in the so called reception the personnel were unable to find my booking reservation. They reassured me that I would be offered a room if I could come back 30 minutes later. Doing so, and when entering the room (first floor) showed an uncleaned room in a complete mess. Returning to the reception, they offered me a new room (third floor), also this room turned out to be in a chaotic state. After some additional waiting a woman (normally working in the restaurant) came and cleaned the room. The toilet and shower had no separation what so ever, resulting in a flooded floor (if less care would have been applied also the room would have been drained). The stay at this hotel lasted two nights, normally you expect the room to be cleaned every morning that did not happen here. The breakfast was OK, even if the selection of offered beverages depended on the individual waiter/waitress.The hotel was situated next to the street and a major crossing which of course resulted in a lot of noise. Being extremely hot and without air condition required a window to be kept open. The curtains for keeping the light out were hung in such a way that there was always a gap, after some effort (from us - the guests) of rearranging the curtains enough darkness was reached. The beds were fairly comfortable. The major reason for the choice of hotel was the nearness to the railway station. The price for the offered dreadful conditions was outrageous.
