 "review of Neutraal"
The hotel is clean and tidy,and the main advantage for me was the location.Only a two minute walk from the Central station.Right in the centre of the shopping area.Also not a noisy hotel..Would go back there.

 "overpriced"
paid 94 euros for the tiny room with shared facilities. we could hear every word through paper thin walls. when asked for the romote control for tv to avoid music and loud talk in the next room, were asked to give 20 euros deposit. choose this hotel only for the closiness to the station and free breakfast but it was not worth it.

 "Clean and good location"
Was clean and location was good although rooms were very small/had limited space-was expected/advertised in booking. Closing of doors were loud/can wake you up throughout the night, paid in cash and was charged extra for city taxes more than the adverstised 5%. We didn't question/shrug it off since it was only €1.53 extra but was still unexpected. No wi-fi access in the room, had to go to the reception area. I think we'll find a better value next time we plan to visit Amsterdam.

 "Good location, small rooms, dirty bed linen"
Advantages: The hotel situated a few minutes walk from the Amsterdam Centraal. Disadvantages: One shower and toilet room for 4 rooms. Dirty bed linen. Extremely small rooms (5.5 m2). No hot meal available for breakfast.

 "Hotel Neutraal"
Mmmm I did not like so much my stay at this hotel. When I arrived with my couple the girl in service for the check in had a real bad attitude, like if she would be given a favor, come on... I was paying!In addition, when I did the check out I asked to the personnel in charge to save my baggage for 3 hours, I arrived after 3 hours and 10 minutes, for that I had to pay 10 Euros per bag (total: 20 Euros).This was my first time in Amsterdam which I enjoyed a lot but the hotel was a complete disappoint.

 "Horrible hotel with bed bugs"
Absolute nightmare.I had to come home to the UK and seek Doctors help and antibiotics for well over a hundred bites on my body. My face, arms, legs,back and feet were covered in bed bug bites.The bed linen and the curtains were infested with bed bugs.I managed to change my room but the service was appalling. Initially i was told there were no more rooms to change to until i took my shirt off to show the reason why. It was then i got another room. I didn't sleep at all and just waited for 8am to get out quickly.Never in my life have i experienced this and i am a seasoned traveller.My advice is to always check out hotels as much as you can before booking. Trust me you don't ever want this to happen to you. 3 days on and i am still covered in weeping sores and inflamed bite marks.I photographed the room and the bugs. Also myself. I have proof of all of this if my health deteriorates further in any way.

 "Great trip, poor hotel"
On arrival to the hotel I was shocked to find out the payment had not been taken out of my account. It isn't very clear this is how it works, but I think thats more to do with easy to book, than the hotel, as apperently it wasn't the first time this had happened. The beds were comfy, room was tiny, shower and toilet was clean.But it was all going well until I discovered mice had been in our suitcases and eaten our snacks and gifts (waffels and biscuits) It was discusting. Luckily we were leaving that day. lo the stairs are a death ccident waiting to happen, and carrying our suitcases up and down three flights of tiny steep steps its awful.

 "Unexpectedly good"
before booking the hotel neutraal...i read many reviews. Many said...it was not clean, cold and with a mouse.On the contrary, i think it was perfect. A very cute and clean room. newly painted. clean sheets and towels. wall with posters of a puppy. very pleasing indeed. bed was soft and comfortable. wven the bathroom and toilet were clean inspite of being shared by 4 rooms in all.... definitely give it a try.\i was in room no 26. so...if u r a solo traveller...try booking 26 because i dunno bout the condition of any of the other rooms....

 "Craphole"
This hotel is a craphole, me and my brother got put in a tiny room on the top floor that was barley big enough to turn around, not only was the room half decorated and half bodged together but the window had a huge hole in it from where it had been smashed (covered by clingfilm!) The worst was yet to come as when i bent down to unpack by bag i saw a mouse scurrying across the floor!The shared shower is useless and dirty along with the tiny shared toilet, breakfast was a big let down as all they offer is bread and plastic like cheese and ham oh and jam. Overall i wouldnt recommend this hotel unless, like me you had to book at last minute and so didnt ave the choice as there are better and cheaper places to stay in central amsterdam than this......

 "Awfull place - Never go there"
3 things : - very bad bad smelling everywhere- dirty stuff, wall, shower etc...- mice in the room schartching all night long behind de wallEven if the room cost the lowest in Amsterdam; 70€ per night is expansive enough for this kind of service. Please Put 30€ more for another hotel! It is worth it!

 "Would not stay here again"
Because they are renovating this hotel one day when we walked to our room (did not have the facilities as described) there was a mouse on the corridor-that put me off straight away. The shared bathroom was not cleaned every day. For the price it was terrible!! I did not feel good in this hotel at all.On the plus site, the people have been friendly and it was very close to the station but to be honets I would rather be further away and have something better then this.

 "Better than we thought"
Room was clean, i think we had a room that was relatively newly redone, saw a few other rooms when walking by and they didn't look as good (we were room 28). shared bathroom was clean, good shower. looks like they were still in the process on upgrading, the corridors need new carpets. the staff was very friendly, the cleaner guys gave us fresh towels everyday with a smile on face, the reception guys gave us maps of the city and showed us where a few good bars/clubs etc were, so that was really nice. breakfast is very average. more like a nice hostel with your own room, but we enjoyed our stay with no issues, and the location is great

 "Old and cold"
The building is very old and in a bad state of conservation (infiltration, noisy floor, rotten woods, etc.). The corridor door slam with every time someone passes, what makes it impossible to sleep. The radiator of our room didn't work, so it was a cold night. Nevertheless, we paid 180 euros to stay 2 nights.

 "Decent hotel"
By traveling as a backpacker, this hotel is more than adequate.However, for Easter weekend, the price was still too high for the quality of the room (38 € / night / person).Do not rely on the entry that seems completely dilapidated. The rooms and bathrooms are not like that.

 "Where are the cleaners?"
I stayed here for my birthday weekend with friends. I knew from the reviews that this wasn't the ritz but when on a budget.... Sacrifice!I stayed with 5 friends sharing 2 rooms, 3 in each. My room along with the girls was considerably larger than the other room and had 2 single beds and a larger double bed and table. In the whole time of our stay we didn't see a cleaner despite all of the rubbish we had to leave outside our room... If your on a budget this hotel is fine although breakfast is simply bread and jam with a selection of milk n juices!

 "cheap, cheerful and central"
I stayed here with 2 friends Feb 2012. The Hotel is very basic, but was excellent value for money. Beds were clean and comfortable, central location was great. I would recommend this if you are looking for a base and somewhere to sleep without the home comforts xx
