We booked to stay at this hotel however the day before we were due to travel the hotel called and moved us to a sister hotel. The premier Shaftesbury Notting Hill, due to heating issues at the Kensington one, they upgraded the room & included breakfast with our stay. The room was really small but looked well presented , the staff were friendly enough. After the first night I noticed lots of what looked like mosquito bites, thought nothing of it however as I woke up on the last morning noticed something crawling past my nose, it was a bed bug!! I jumped up by this time I'm covered in around 80 bites!! We strip off the bed & catch a further 2 of the things & take them to reception on check out & the receptionist didn't seem all that horrified & immediately offered to refund part of my stay. On returning home I visit my dr as the bites were getting angrier & making me feel quite unwell, I'm now on really strong antibiotics & antihistamines, I have written to the hotel.

Pros: Very good service at the reception, good location and friendly staff.
Cons: Very small rooms , i have never stayed at a hotel with such a small room. this is not a 4 star hotel . the breakfastroom very small , 20 chairs and the price for the breakfast is to high for the value you get. i stayes 6 nights at the hotel and 3 of these days the lift were not working. to bad in such a big town like london , that they could not fix the lift. i felr sorry for the old people who had to walk up to third or fourth floor.

Cons: Very small amout of noise form road/ inside hotel in middle of the night mean i used ear plugs and slept through the alarm in my oh so comfortable bed!

Pros: Manager was very welcoming and lovely.
Cons: The bedside cabinets was too close to the bed as in the night i turned over and hit my eye on the bedside cabinet causing a lump and bruising around the eye

Cons: The room was much smaller than promised, there were no bathrobe, slipers, night turndown, minibar which were promised to be. during my two nights stay, i had to prove three times that breakfast really was included to my room, it made me feel like a criminal. the information never went anywhere from the reception. i was promised to have discount for my stay because of the different room, but to get it i had to wait for the manager so long, that i was late from my work.

Cons: Given basement room for first night whith window looking at airco. very noisy and for some reason very warm in the room. complained and got room on first floor which was smaller. beds in both rooms were terrible

Pros: The hotel staff were very helpfyll, when we wanted to change to another room
Cons: The first impression of the hotel was fair, because we got a room there were about 25 degrees hot! and the window opened up to a noicy ventilation system

Pros: Liked the location, staff was nice. free wifi, but poor signal.
Cons: Too much noise from other rooms, room was really small but we were out all day anyway. the emergency light turned on in the midlle of the night a few times and woke us up.

Pros: The hotel is clean and well presented. the staff are pleasant and helpful. for our use the hotel is perfectly situated. this is our second stay here and it definately won't be our last.

Cons: The room was little more than a cupboard, (it was what the hotel termed "a club room") supposed to be larger than a normal double, and i would not recommend this hotel to anyone. hotel claimed refridgerator in room, not the case with our room i'm afraid when asked at reception to be moved to a room with a fridge was told there was none as all the fridges were leaking gas (all of them,at the same time?)

Cons: I expected the room to be small from the other reviews however, didn't anticipate how small it would actually be. it is the tiniest double room that i have ever been in. it was so small that you had to climb over the bed to get the wardrobe. too small for two people.

Cons: Myself and my partner were very disapointed with our room at the shaftesbury, after paying £90 for 1 nights stay with the regular price set at over £300 i expected the room to be of a high standard, we had been allocated to a disabled persons room with disabled utilities in the bathroom including the toilet with a seat that couldnt be raised, and a shower that was far too low to stand under.
