"Good Hotel"

I stayed at this hotel on new years eve 2011 for only one night.The staff were friendly.the rooms were clean and nice bathrooms.The location was just around the corner from paddington station - quiet but not too far from everything.

Cons: The room i was upgraded to had no curtains, the staff did move me by the bathroom was so small it was impossible to have a shower, the internet service was slow, the head reception was rude to other members of staff, it was embarassing to be in the same space.

Cons: Almost everything was negative during our stay. we had booked a club room which included several amenities. for the additional charge, we were supposed to receive robes, slippers, breakfast, fruit basket daily, half bottle of wine upon arrival, turndown service with chocolates at bedtime. we had to ask for all of these things because our reservation was recorded incorrectly in their computer system. the fruit arrived at 9:30 at night after we requested it at 7:00 that evening. we never received the fruit basket for the second day. we were initially refused our breakfast that we had paid for and had to clarify it with the front desk twice. the robes arrived at 9:30 at night after our request. we never did receive the turndown service or the chocolates. the room was basic and the bathroom miniscule. i was able to sit on the loo and shave my legs in the shower at the same time. there was no soap dish in the shower and no place to put shampoo, conditioner, etc. we did not see a hairdryer in the room. the people at the front desk were rude and unfriendly. they never apologized for their mistakes and acted like it was our fault. fortunately we had the computer printout from the reservation confirmation to prove what we had paid for; otherwise i doubt that we would have received any of the amenities. our electronic keys had to be replaced three times during our two-night stay. we will not stay at this property again.

Cons: The room was tiny not enough room to fit my feet at the side of the bed, the wardrobe hangers were too big for wardrobe so would not fit and the ironing board took up all the room, the shaving point in the bathroom did not work even after reporting twice,had to shave by holding up lamp in front of bedroom mirror to be able to see properly, noisy deliveries each morning just outside bedroom window.

Cons: The description said "spacious and elegant" and "double bed". i was given a room in the basement with a single bed which touched the wall on three sides and where my suitecase completely filled the gap between the bed and the fourth wall. after passionate complaints i was begrudgingly moved to a similar basement room which did have a double bed but the bed was one foot from the walls all around and had a shower which was 18inches on each side, not unlike a coffin as you couldn't get your arms above your head to wash your hair. there was a floodlight outside the window lighting the building outside which shone through the curtains like they were not there. the staff were pretty disinterested and actually asked me what i expected for 100 quid a night. i travel a lot. this was seriously the worst experience i have had although seemingly typical of paddington hotels. don't do this hotel. full stop.

Pros: Great location. nothing else is good about this hotel.
Cons: The staff is not very helpful, in fact they were uncompetent in such simple things as "how to get the tv to work, get the bulb for the lamp and get the tv remote to work"!the room was so small, we had to walk over each other, the floor was squeeky and the cleanliness was poor. although the fausets were fairly new.the service was at first slow, then they ignored us completely for the rest of the evening.please don't stay there.

Pros: Great location, comfy, everything ok. if you're looking for high-quality easy accommodation without extra services and no nonsense, a really good choice.
Cons: Nothing really worth complaining; the only negative points were that the pillow covers had some smudges on them a couple of times, and the key card ceased to work once (immediately sorted out by the staff, though). not very quiet, but nothing too disturbing, either.

This stylish 4-star hotel, on the north edge of Hyde Park, is a short walk from Paddington Station.

This London hotel is located in the fashionable Paddington district, just around the corner from one of the most important train stations in the city of London. From this fabulous location you will be only a few meters away from Hyde Park and the Speakers Corner. Bayswater and Queensway have plenty of pubs and eateries and are within walking distance from the hotel. Lancaster Gate tube station, on the Central Line, is also nearby, connecting directly to UNESCO world heritage sites such as St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Tower of London.
