 "Should not be a 4* hotel"
Not a bad hotel but not great,staff were friendly but forgettful we asked for a 4am wake up call and they didnt call till 4.25 room was far too hot and you cant open a window as they are nailed shut AA

 "Surprisingly good hotel!"
We booked online and of course worried that the hotel would not meet the descriptions on their website. It exceeded all our expectations. Lovely staff and a great room. I think we were lucky to have been in a Clubroom as I believe the other rooms may be smaller, but we were out a lot of the time and it was perfect for that. Despite being freezing outside it was chokingly hot inside until we opened the window and worked out how to turn off the hot air and the radiator. Perhaps they could save the environment a little by turning the heating down a few degrees? Many thanks to you all. Kathleen Russell

 "Nice for a couple nights"
The hotel is in a nice place, the Paddington metro station is just a few blocks away, there are a few little places for breakfast nearby that serve local food which is pretty good and great value. The rooms where really really small... And the safe wasn't attached to anything, you could basically pick it up and walk out the door. Good to stay only a couple nights at most, the room is too small.

Cons: They moved us to a different hotel on arrival saying there was a leak in the fridges of the rooms. aparently this is a regular thing. won't even contimplate staying in a shaftsbury again
