Barcelona City Centre Hostal

Pros: Friendly clean hotel
Cons: Thought i was booking a proper hotel. this really turned out to be student accomodation only and should be advertised as so..

Cons: Difficult to locate on arrival. needs an indication at front dfoor as to which floor it is located.entrance to building very scruffy.to be fair there seemed to be work being done which might improve this.

Pros: Everything was good, staff was very nice, the room are clean. the location is perfect, close to everything but not right in the middle of all the noise for the rambla. i would go back and recommended this hotel.
Cons: You can hear people trough the walls, but nothings bad and for what we payed, you can't expect it to be sound proof.

Pros: Wonderful time, very friendly and helpful staff. we would definitely choose it again.

Pros: The description of the hostel on the site is misleading and i would like to speak to somebody with regards to compensation. the site portrays the hostal as a triple bed with en suite and kitchen / wifi etc. there was nothing visible at the time of booking which said that the kitchen and living area would be communal and shared with the other guests. in addition the wifi was almost no existent and unusable!please can someone contact me about this with regards to conmpensating me and my travelling companions.

Pros: Maria, our host was so very helpful when we first checked in and each day she was there she told us about places we might go see. free internet was a big plus!

Pros: Okay location. bit overpriced but everywhere is barcelona is a tad overpriced.
Cons: It is more like a flat rather than a hotel. there is no reception as shut just a room in which there may or may not be someone to help. no 'fun' factor as such because of the lack of reception area and you never see other people staying there.

Pros: The location is excellent as the city centre is only 5 minutes walk away. the room was clean and staff were friendly. although previous comments had stated the hostel was noisy, we did not experience this.
Cons: The only negative is that the internet access is limited - there is a single computer in the entrance, meaning that this was sometimes busy when we needed to use it. overall however, this was only a small problem.

Pros: Great location and next 2 roads up were packed with good places to eat. when we arrived the lady told us all about places to go see and how to get there, she was very helpful. the hotel was clean and friendly. you can be assured this is a perfectly nice place to stay.
Cons: You don't necessarily get a great view from your window but we were always out so it didn't matter to us.

Pros: Good and safe location. room was clean.
Cons: Staff gave us location of supermarket which was difficult to find when there was a very huge supermarket at catalunya which we visited everyday. only informed by another staff the day before we left.

Pros: Really impressed with cleanliness, every day we returned to an immaculate room. there is a pc in the common area for everyone to use, completely free of charge. hostel is conveniently situated only in a 15-min walking distance from las ramblas, while the underground and train station (passeig de gracia) is a 5-min walk, opposite gaudi's casa batlo. trains to and from the airport run through the station, too. many plates, bowls and cutlery available in the kitchen for everyone to use, as well as a microwave oven.
Cons: Although the staff reassured us that noise would not be an issue, it almost drove us mad. traffic, sirens, people yelling and fighting outside clubs filled the room during the night, but nothing was as bad as our neighbours next door which we could hear day and night, and thus led us to doubt about the existence of the hostel's supposed sound-proof walls. stuff was not always available to consult. a kettle could be useful for the common area as well- there was a machine for tea and coffee but there was no available hot drink throughout our five of our six days there, and nobody bothered to look. room a bit too small to do anything but sleep in it really- although this wouldn't be a problem if everything else were ok. overall i would not return there, since there are better alternatives in this very website alone, with equally good prices. this is only good for youths that are only looking for a place to crush after barcelona's wild nights out, but for everyone else, my advice is browse a bit more, there are better alternatives.

Pros: We are a more mature couple visiting our daughter who lives just a couple of blocks from the hostal - it fitted in very well in terms of proximity. the room was very clean and we were very impressed with the service (towels, bed etc). it was also nice and quiet (my husband was worried about the noise before we arrived). and the joint area with the fridge, microwave and crockery, etc was very useful for travellers on a budget. we would not hesitate to book into the hostal again.
Cons: The only thing that was a bit difficult was getting the keys to work to the outside door and the door to the hostal.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very conveniently located

Pros: Great staff, friendly and helpful. the room was always brilliantly cleaned and we could come and go at our convienance.
Cons: The only negative i would say was the fact it was not advertised well from the outside. we had to use 'hostel eden' sign across the road to pinpoint where the hostel was. only a tiny door bell sign. took us a while to find because of this.
