"let down by small things"

very quiet location & handy for the 747 Airport coach. When we arrived (very late), the TV did not work (wires hanging out of the back) and no plug in the bathroom sink. On the second day it was 4pm before someone came to make up the room. Otherwise it was ok.

"our Visit"

"Average hotel"

most of the staff was friendly and helpfulthe room was nice & clean except for the rug which had lots of stainsvery quiet location (15 min walk to city center)we also stayed at Maldron Pernell Square (also Dublin) which I would recommend over this one (newer rooms, directly in city center)

"Beautiful Hotel - Poor Location"

I have peviously stayed in the Maldron Smithfield, so I was aware of the high standard and quality of the rooms and service offered. I think the location is not good, Smithfield is known by the locals as a bit of a rough area. We had no problems, but it kept us very wary. Plus the walk from Temple Bar is 20mins+ along the River Liffey.I was also surprised as I was made to pay on arrival not prior, when I made my reservation. This was not made clear by the hotel or easytobook, so it was a nasty shock arriving and having to hand over my card then and there!The hotel is beautiful, staff are lovely and always want to help! The Stir restaurant was very quiet and I never ate there. TV was always on and there was no much of an atmosphere.

"excellent"

Everything was spot on.the staff was nice. Rooms were great. The view from the room was poor though. The location is excellent. Really good value. 3 minute walk from the tram station. 2 stations away from city center.

"Excellent Hotel"

I have stayed here before and will again. Recption staff are helpful and pleasant and rooms are clean and comfortable.We had a room overlooking the square and while there was some morning noise from the street (we had our window open and door to the small balcony ajar) it was good to be able to watch the people coming and going. I would stay there again.

"overnight in dublin"

Because of the nature of our work we don't get many opportunities to get away, however we just had to see the new production of 'An Inspector Calls' at the Gaiety. Coming from Clare we needed to stay overnight and booked the Maldron because it looked clean and comfortable and was near the LUAS. We had a lovely weekend and the hotel was very good. so convenient for the centre of Dublin, yet outside the hurly burly. We had a good breakfast in the morning which stood us in good stead for our journey home. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the food good and the room most comfortable. Thanks

"nice trip to Dublin"

Very kind service staff. Room was very silent. Location of the hotel was central, but calm. The breakfast was fair because you can choose btw. continental and irish breakfast (continental is cheaper).

"Very enjoyable stay"

Esxellent hotel close to city centre. Reception staff always friendly and helpful. Spacious room which was clean and well kept. All in all very happy and at a very good price.

"A weekend in Dublin"

Ideally situated for the city and attractions, we use the hotel to visit our son fairly regularly. The chef keeps the buffet breakfast fully stocked, and at our time of the morning always hot. Our door lock to the balcony was broken but on the 4th floor it didn't really matter. Will return when we come back to Dublin.

Pros: On arrival we were greeted pleasently and given information about our room etc we needed a taxi next morning which the receptionist arranged no problem we had dinner in the resturant and were very happy with both the service and food
the hotel is easy to find and near the luas we were very happy with our stay there

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, i asked for and recieved extra towels and tea bags. i also asked for a bucket of ice and also recieved this, even tho it was not something they normally provided.
Cons: There was no late bar or mini bar facilities, it would have been nice to know in advance.

Pros: There is a supermarket/bakery right next door for breakfast and any snacks. very convenient.
Cons: The one guy on the desk was rude when we arrived. his cash machine was not working and he told us we needed to find a cash machine outside to take out money and pay before checking in. secondly, it was muggy in the room - no aircon and the window opened barely. we requested a fan and barely survived the muggy evenings. don't be fooled, it is away from the city centre but certainly not quiet - majority of the rooms face out to a big factory facility that runs noisily throught the night. overpriced and uncofortable where not even the hotel staff could make up for it.

Pros: Weekend visit to my mother in hospital arrived early to drop off bag but was allowed to check into room
reception staff supply map and direction to a requested place of worship.
allowed to have breakfast although only 2 minutes before buffet finished, which was very good.
Cons: nothing negative.

Fantastic

With a 3-star rating, Maldron Hotel Smithfield can make you feel special. Looking for roomy accommodation? You will not be dissapointed by this one. Heuston railway station is a station close by. Not only The Four Courts, but also St. James's Gate Brewery and Parnell Square, are a pleasant walk's distance from here. Visiting Dublin, you shouldn't miss Christ Cathedral. You may enjoy a visit to Shelbourne Park, which isn't hard to reach.

Everybody staying at Maldron Hotel Smithfield has access to a bar/lounge, a coffee shop/café and a smoking area, which are all present on-site. Amongst the many services on offer at this accommodation are a doctor on call, a fax service and a shoe polishing service. A conference space, a business center and an audio-visual equipment set are all included in the business facilities. With 92 rooms, there will surely be one of your liking. Parking in Dublin can be a hassle, but at least public parking is available.
