Pros: The hotel is not convenient to the rail station but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel to get into town, which is an easy 15 minute ride.
Cons: The non-enlish / non-german speaking staff was a problem. the common areas smelled "moldy." the hotel restaurant was not open and there is not much of a selection in the area. our room was cleaned only once during a 3-day stay. i would not consider this a 3-star establishment.

Pros: Vogelweiderhof was very spacious & comfortable! the room was clean and bigger then expected! not far from central salzburg with the bus stop just outside the hotel.
Cons: I twasn't so much a problem, but it would of helped if the receptionist (also the waiter) could speak english). i called the hotel before my arrival asking about buses from the airport and he could not understand me.
