"Good Hotel with friendly staff. A bit far out in more way than one."

Excellent welcome from very helpful staff. Small but well appointed room with superb facilities. Great bed and shower and a very good TV with lots of interesting chanels. Easy to get to from the airport but a 20 minute tram ride into the centre, if you put up with that this is a good hotel to stay at.

"Short stay"

Great hotel, very modern. It was very easy to find from the train station. Friendly and helpful staff who were very attentive. Location was a bit far away from the town centre than we would have liked.

"Ideal Hotel"

"Best Bed Ever"

This hotel is fab, so clean ,well maintained and stylish . We stayed as a couple and loved everyting about the hotel, it is easy to get to as the tram stops right outside, it would have been better for us if it had been more central.

"Great hotel!"

This was a fantastic hotel...rooms were amazing, especially the MASSIVE bed and the rain shower! The staff were so helpful and friendly, always very happy to help. The location wasn't as great as I thought but tram 5 stops right outside the hotel and takes you right into the centre. However they only run so late! I would definitely recommend staying here if you like a modern yet relaxed hotel with great facilities and staff!

"Brilliant hotel with very high standard of service"

Slightly odd decor but very nice hotel overall. I was impressed with the service level of all the employees, right from house cleaning to front desk reception. Highly recommended hotel with very convenient location near the Airport.

"Couldn't be faulted"

Simply a superb hotel. The staff were genuinely friendly & helpful and the buffet breakfast was good value and the coffee excellent. Although the rooms were small as previous reviews had mentioned, there was plenty of space for our two large suitcases and the wonderful space in the lobby encouraged you to chill out on the various seating areas. - it was light & airy & the various tv screens showed different channels in front of the sofas. The no 5 tram stops just round the corner & takes you to all the main tourist sites and we never waited for more than a few minutes in either direction.-there's not that much around the hotel though so hence the lower score on location. We got the train from the airport which took less than 10 minutes & the directions to the hotel on their website were excellent. We'd definitely recommend the GVB transport tickets which we got from the office at Zuid station. - 16 Euros for 72 hrs compared with 2.70 per hour or an individual trip.Overall an excellent hotel & we'll look for other locations

"CitizenM experience"

On arrival the check in service by staff was excellent.The room lay-out was a surprise with very little in the way of facilities - eg., one rack with only 3 hangers does not suffice as a wardrobe. There is no where to put cases except on the floor or on the bed (which we are not keen to do). A table but only one chair - ridiculous! Only one way onto bed from the end which at night when going to the toilet is quite a challenge especially for the more mature!! Totally air controlled environment with cold draft coming down the window onto head & face even with temperature at highest setting! (Remember to take a hat to wear in bed if you have little hair on top)!!When doors of shower & toilet are closed there is only 21cm to pass between them! The hotel is within easy access to the city centre using, tram, metro or bus.Reception, lobby, free wi-fi area, cafe bar and lounge areas are all excellent.Our main issue is with the bed & its access difficulties.We were very impressed with the overall cleanliness of the hotel.We were advised by reception that every room is identical.A taxi driver revealed CitizenM is known as the 'Container Hotel'!!!

"Citizen m"

Hotel was in a pleasant and quiet location easily accessible to Airport and central Amsterdam. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room was ultra modern and stylish but had some design faults-toilet cubicle was within room and not very private, shower floor was extremely slippy when wet and there was little space for hanging clothes. However the bed was huge and comfortable and the hotel facilities were good

"Becoming a Citizen"

Becoming a citizen is straight forward and ultimately, very rewarding. From entering the boutique style hotel you are very quickly aware that you are not in a typical hotel. The ground floor is dedicated to a social area where wifi is freely available, iMacs are ready to use and modern pieces of furniture (including comfy sofas) bedeck the vast "social area." in essence, this area is where you will spend an increased amount of time when compared to staying in a typical hotel as the rooms are fairly small but very modern. I quickly got used to using my room as a sleeping zone only and spend increasing time in the social area where breakfast is served and citizens plan their daily activities.

"Amsterdam"

It was an excellent hotel, very quiet room. Comfortable bed and very nice to have free movies available. Only rather negative point is it's distance to the city center, but in addittion it provides a quiet surrounding because of it's distance!

"Loved this hotel"

We both loved this hotel, it was a very new and novel style of living almost combining the concepts of hotel and hostel. The staff were very helpful. Every room ( ours and the communal spaces) were all immaculate. It's a bit out from the city but we found that the 24 hour tram pass got us what we needed to get around. In addition the airport link to the local station being around the corner meant that 6 euro could easily get you to the airport in about 8 minutes.

"Great renewing concept with top service."

The CitizenM is a renewing concept. You need to get adjusted to the toilet and shower in the room. I didn't know that and especially the toilet was a challenge. Luckily I was with my spouse and not my mother in law or so.Remote for all the lights, blinds and tv is very handy. Lovely to play with ;-).The staff is very kind and service is great. Dinner-options are poor, but tasty. Price is very good for the quality you get. I'm coming back for sure if I need to stay overnight in Amsterdam. RAI is a 10 min-walk and tram 5 takes you to the central station within 15 min.

Pros: Very pleasant welcoming staff, luxurious modern rooms and unique atmosphere. a sight in itself at the outskirts of amsterdam, perfect for a pair of young travellers.
Cons: The location initial caused some difficulty, especially if unfamiliar with the local transport system. however this was soon made easy with the citizenm city map.
