"Beautiful hotel"

The Lloyd hotel is a really beautiful and interesting hotel. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need. the staff was very nice. The breakfast was way to expensive.The tea/coffee for free offer was very good but maybe you could offer a bit more, because very often all the coffee and tea were empty .

"A pleasant fusion between hipster-culture and Pripyat styling."

The hotel has a very unique appeal which makes it attract elderly hipsters almost as affective a fly's being lured towards a jar of feces, but than in an good way of course. I also enjoyed the hospitality

"Highly Recommended"

We had a marvelous stay at the LLoyd Hotel. This beautiful building is arranged with fantastic modern design interiors. The staff was very professional and helpful at anytime.The room was lovely and it was cleaned every day. High quality shower and bed.I will definitely come back to the Lloyd on my next Amsterdam trip :)

Arty, urban hotel with great rooms. Better towels and faster dining service would have been good, but staff friendly and hotel clean. Surrounding docklands quiet, but with amenities and places to eat and drink.

"Not for hot summer days"

I made an reservation for a room with two single beds, at first I,ve got a very very small romm with one bed. Then it was possible to change the room and this one was okay. But it was not possible to open the window and there was no air conditioning system, so it was very hot in the room.

"Not what I thought"

The location of the hotel is fairly easy to get to and the actual hotel itself is ok it's just the rooms.... We thought we was getting 3 star and it was actually only 1. Although another couple in our group got upgraded for nothing, no one else did. And not having breakfast included was a pain too... I'm usually pretty easy to please but after seeing the rooms that are available, compared to the room we got, I just feel gutted I had picked this hotel for my husbands birthday.

Comfortable, clean and friendly hotel close to centre of Amsterdam. We would stay there again but would definitely upgrade our room. We stayed in the very basic and the room was extremely small but we were only there two nights so not a massive issue. The room was functional though sharing facilities was a bit of a novelty!!

"My Stay at the Lloyd Hotel"

So...I surpised my girlfriend on her birthday with a whistle stop weekend trip to Amsterdam. we stayed at the Lloyd hotel in one of the 5 star rooms. The room itself was number 28 (the biggest room they have) which I believe is also used as a meeting room. While the bathroom is not much to write home about (no bath but a fairly decent shower), this really was an incredible room - it is MASSIVE! She was flabbergasted by the size of the room and the general style of the hotel. The staff are the nicest hotel staff I've ever met and were always courteous and helpful. The food was especially good and if you are staying for a few days it's well worth dinning there at some point. This was a wonderful experience for us both. Now for the down side: Bear in mind that when you book a room in the hotel you are paying for the experience of staying in boutique style rooms that have been designed....obviously the more you pay, the more interesting the room. However, this would seem to be the only difference between 1 and 5 stars. I would have rated this hotel 5/5 if the 5 star service provided something else - such as a mini bar - extra services (even little things) which differentiate the lower star rooms from the higher stars. Those little extras make all the difference to the hotel experience and I wish the Lloyd would consider this as I imagine some guests are somewhat dissapointed when they've payed quite a lot quite a lot of money. I would definately stay at this Hotel again - for those who want a memorable experience this is the best hotel in amsterdam.

Pros: Great building, interesting and very friendly. the bar/restaurant is reasonably priced
Cons: We thought we had an en suite, but this was not the case. it was not clear during the booking process. our room was very small.

"Very good beds, good public transportations"

Pros: Very good beds, good public transportations. nice restaurants in the area, a new part of amsterdam, but anyway close to the centre.
friendly employees.
Cons: We had a middle class room, no idea how the other rooms are.
it feels like the rooms are a bit "spartanic art", concrete floors and our room had the toilet in the middle of the room,(that is nice to know in advance depence you are travelling with) we discovered later there was a sliding door you could put between walls but still!

Pros: Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. the location was excellent. minutes by tram to the heart of amsterdam.
Cons: Some of the rooms are in a basement with all kinds if piping hanging from the low ceiling. our friends room was a narrow corridor with a bed squessed on the end. not what the pictured showed. luckily we were able to get them moved or we would have gone to another hotel.
