Hotel Old Quarter Amsterdam

The room was clean but basic. The The loaction was great, right near everything & there was someone available to let you in 24hrs a day. Breakfast included was an omlete, toast & a choice of tea or coffee, so just what you need after a night out

Steep stairs that have limited support to get by, unclean bathroom that is shared and no sign of being cleaned more regularly as shared. Street facing rooms noisy and boisterous from activity of street

So the Old Quarter Hotel, Having stayed in many similar hotels in this area and of the same price and rating. Great staff very friendly nice bar and eating area.Had booked a Single room but on arrival was asked if a twin was ok at the same rate. Room long narrow typical of many of the places I have stayed. The room was not as clean as I would have expected but i never complained as was only there for the 1 night. I would give this hotel another chance based on the price of the food/drinks and how good the staff were.

After booking this hotel we read some very bad reports on this hotel... However we found this hotel to be very charming. The staff could not have been better. The food was wonderful and reasonable prices. It was an excellent location in the city as well as being so close the the train station. My two concerns were that the walls are very thin and could hear the next rooms music most so the night and the Internet only works in back of the restaurant. I would definitely stay here again.

Located just a stone's throw away from the central station, right in the middle of the coffee shops of Red Light Distrinct, this is the place to go, if your primary needs are a place to crash and a solid english breakfast to start the day.The rooms and shared bathrooms are proper and clean, but very small and the walls are paper-thin. You shouldn't expect any kind of luxury and the hallways are often filled with the odors from all the weed smoking backpackers.However, the rooms are surprisingly quiet and coffee and breakfast is served with a smile.The overall impression is: Good value for the money.

The Old Quarter Hotel is one of the best located situated in the middle of Amsterdam city. We stayed three nights and even though the room was basic the staff looked after your needs and offered a five star rating in customer service for our group. The selection of food, drinks and entertainment was the best we could find and the local chef speciality dishes where our favourite..! We where on the doorstep from Amsterdam central train station so only took about twenty minutes to arrive from the airport and the transport on offer was also great, especially the trams and water taxis. All the main attractions are easy to find and the only trouble we had was that we couldn't make up our mind of where to go to next..!

Open 24 jour a day, very kind employees. Room is simple but efficient, TV in. Shared showers are clean. They can even keep your journey bag last day if you want to move free before your train/plane. A great place in Amsterdam.

we first booked into a room with 2 single beds and we were not totally pleased with it. we spent one night in that room and then upgraded to a canal view; totally worth it and are coming back to that room at the end of the month

Their website is a load of rubbish, wifi didn't work, free breakfast was a joke and the room stunk of sewerage, saying that though I wasn't there for the hotel, I was there experiencing the "coffee shops", however, if I pay money to stay in a hotel I expect a basic standard which unfortunately the old quarter did not provide. Mind you, the staff were well fit!

Perfect location just across the road from the station with everything nearby. Lovely hotel with polite and helpful staff. Home cooking great and even live music on my birthday shared with 2 band members !! The only drawback was our room which was at the bottom of very steep stairs - then again all stairs in Amsterdam seem to be the same as the houses are built upwards not out. Definitely will plan a return trip Gillian & Bobby

Stayed in the hotel with my pal for the weekend last week, read a few bad reviews before I went but I wouldn't listen to them the food they're selling in the hotel bar is some of the best food I've come across in amsterdam and the prices are really good, hotel rooms are a bit small but that's just amsterdam for you smoking permitted in the rooms so if your on a weed holiday like we was this is a decent place for you to stay haven't got a bad word to say about the place by far the best accommodation I've come across in the dam so far 10 out of 10

This hotel truly made our visit to Amsterdam. Great location, right in the heart of Amsterdam and easy access to station, shops and night spots. The staff were excellent and made us feel welcomed and at home. We will stay here again next time! Thanks

good location and freindly staff rooms are very basic we had a tripple room in this no star hotel and my freinds got a 5 star apartment in dam squre for the same as it cost us.so look around.

Stayed with friends hotel in a great location, staff were excellent. Rooms very basic but clean and tidy. Plenty of hot water. Would go back

We had a nice stay in the Old quarter Hotel. The room was nice and the breakfast was good. It has a good central location in Amsterdam.

I booked this hotel for myself and 9 others , unfortunately 2 of those were not able to come and another 2 after reading the comments on bed bugs decided the Hotel Old Quarter was not for them. The rest of us held our nerve as we understand that bed bugs can come from anywhere and aren't we glad we did. The welcome when we arrived was warm and friendly, 2 of the double rooms with canal view were on the ground level and we were warned that we might hear the door at night with peopole to-ing and fro-ing - didn't hear a dicky bird (could have something to do with what we had been smoking), we were allowed to smoke in our rooms which for me in Amsterdam is a big thing. The hotel has a bar and restaurant and a couple of our party ate there and said the food was very good., you also get 10% off as a guest. The canal view rooms were fab - plenty of space, great shower, clean towels everyday, tv and lovely big windows overlooking the canal. I dont mean they were the best rooms we have ever stayed in but for the price we were paying and the location , out of the 9 hotels/guest houses I have stayed in whilst visiting Amsterdam, this was by far the best. Please ignore the bed bug comments, this is a fantastic place to stay in and all 6 of us who ended up staying have all said we would stay there again.

Loved this hotel which was a great location; near the Centraal Station, Red Light District and shopping and cultural areas. The staff were extremely helpful, and efficient; acting immediately to meet our request of changing our room to one at the back of the hotel which had beautiful views of the canals and buildings and was much quieter than the one we had originally selected, which was directly above the busy street and pedestrian traffic. The food was delicious in the restaurant - English breakfasts, indulgent hot chocolate, and their Dutch dinner menu was popular with guests, as is their homemade apple pie served with both whipped cream and ice-cream! The staff made the hotel in my view, making you feel at home and welcome. Would happily recommend Hotel Old Quarter to any A'dam visitor!

We stayed here last year and were so pleased we had no hesitation in booking again this year. We had a lovely room with a canal view. The location near to Central Station is very good. What really made the experience was the hotel staff. Without exception, they were all very friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent Hotel, staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and would go the extra mile to make sure your stay was pleasant. Breakfast and all other food was lovely.
