Room is clean, and staff is really friendly and helpful. Its near museum place, just take tram 12 to get there. It also near alment station( four stations away from amsterdam central station).Great hotel.

I stayed with a friend durind December,and I found this hotel very comfortable.Cheap,good located(15min to Schipol with a taxi,and 25 through tram and Metro; 10min to Ziggo Dome and to Leidseplein).Everything is essential,but clean and useful.Enjoy the city..

The hotel was under major restoration. I do not understand how this hotel is operational since it lacks of the basic conditions of infrastructure to receive guests. There were electrical wires hanging on wall; walls with exposed pipes; the stair case that was a hazard to carry any bag was even worse due to extra pieces of wood recovering each step; huge amount of dense dust all over the place since they were also adding an elevator to the property. Early in the morning we woke up with workers and their machines. When I booked the hotel nothing was said about the restoration neither when I arrived there, only after made my full payment and got the key I was advised about some upgrades in the property. But since I started climbing the stairs I realized about the terrible conditions of the hotel. It was late and I stayed. After spending two nights I decided to leave, but when I told Johnny (hotel personnel) that I was leaving due to the lack of comfort and safety, he charged me the cancellation penalty fee based on the highest rate, plus credit card fee related to the merchant (twice); and extra 70 euros without precise explanation. This hotel must be closed for restoration. It cannot be in any hotel booking website as an option because nobody would book a hotel under this circumstances neither for a vacation nor for a business purpose.

We had a plesant stay in Hotel Victorie. The hotel is situated in South of the city but is well connected by Trams.The nearest station is 4-5 minutes walk and the location is very convinent. It takes 20minutes to reach the Dam Square or the main station.The super market is also quite close by. I travelled with my wife and a 5 year son. Our stay was comfortable, toilet and bath were clean and overall cleanliness was quite satisfactory. The hotel staff was friendly and spoke good English. The only draw back was that there are no lifts in the Hotel and the staircase is very narrow and steep. We requested and our room was shifted to the first floor. The only thing we were not quite satisfied was the breakfast, one the first day of our stay the items in the buffet were over and not refilled. In total we were quite satisfied with our stay and will recommend this hotel.

Pros: Nice clean room in quiet part of town, but very close to tram stop, so it was easy to get around.
Cons: The hotel is a little bit worn. also, we heard the pattering of tiny feet on the ceiling tiles above us, which might have been a mouse. we told them and after a day we didn't hear the mouse again.

Cons: Everything was a hoax it seemed. a very expensive hotel, with next to no service whatsoever. everything was so cheap in the room, the bed, the tv, the closet (couldn't even open it!). even the toilet sink was clogged!
i was very disappointed about it. the breakfast was cheap, with nothing really exiting to eat, unless you wanted to pay extra!
i would never recommend this hotel for anyone, and i am surely never coming back. they don't even have a lift.
by the way, under the cover on the bed, i found a latex mat that smelled of urin. that was perhaps the most disgusting thing i've ever seen!

Pros: I chose to stay at hotel victorie because of its close location (3 tram stops) to the rai convention centre and also because of its reasonable price (myself being sponsored by a charity to attend a conference).
the staff were very welcoming and helpful (searching and printing directions to a venue i needed to get to). the room was bright and clean with a slightly dated chic feel. there was ample hot water, the free wireless internet access worked; as did the cable television. the self-service breakfast was generous - lots of choice, including fresh juice and a warm bread selection and as much coffee as you can drink (plus lots more). for the price - a fantastic find. highly recommended!

Pros: Joe at reception was vey helpful and kind enough to serve us breakfast at 6 o'clock in the morning. trams 4 & 25 stop near the hotel, within walking distance. the power shower was really refreshing.
