 "good hotel but the management needs to improve the detail"
Overall this hotel was good. It was located well as it was a 2 minute walk from the Schumn metro station as well as some of the European council buildings and on a direct line to the city centre. This hotel had excellent service at the reception and I can't fault their English language skills. We also had the new years eve a la carte menu at the restaurant and though expensive was both delicious and in the end well worth the experience. Where this hotel lets itself down is that it looks very dated. Our carpet had marks and stations on it. The furniture and TV looked ordinal to the hotel. I haven't recently been in a 4 star hotel with a CRT TV and I would have expected satellite TV and more English channels. I was also surprised to be asked to pay 20 euros if we wanted to visit the jacuzzi. Overall I had an excellent stay and because of the very good deal via the easy booking site good again. Of if I was a walk in customer and had to pay the 288 PP PN then I would have been very disappointed.

Due to repair and extension work at the Schumann métro station, the station entrances and exits are very uncomfortable to use. I found it more convenient to walk the short distance between Silken and the Malbek station and take the métro from there.

 "Great location from where to visit central brussels"
Pros: Great location from where to visit central brussels. schuman train/metro station is a five minute walk away. only four stops to the grand place by metro. just far enough away from the the center of the city to be very quiet at night. both hotel and room were modern and clean.


Cons: In a business district, so not much going on around the hotel on the weekend. also, the glass on the front of the shower covered only half the length of the bathtub. this allowed water to spill all over the bathroom sink and floor during showering.
