"A great stay, no complaints at all."

9 of us went for the Wales, Italy rugby game. We couldn't have wished for a better time and the service we received was outstanding. Franco, Bruno and Roger were professional, helpful and courteous at all times. We all agreed that we if we returned to Rome we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Hotel Sweet Home. It's on the doorstep of Termini station and there are some great places to eat and drink close by. We walked to the Roman Forum and the Colloseum from the hotel. As a base what more could you ask for, visit and enjoy. If you prefer fancy luxury hotels as opposed to good old fashioned homely digs then go elsewhere and avoid having a moan afterwards.

"Great location, wonderful staff."

Hotel sweet home is a great little hotel in a fantastic location in Rome right near the train and bus station, a good little supermarket, several good restaurants, and some good shopping. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was homely and quiet - when you opened the window, the smell of the restaurant kitchens below would come wafting up! I must say that I picked the hotel on the grounds of other reviews that said the rooms were spotless. While the rooms were far from spotless, I found that they were of average cleanliness, with dust and mould in and around the shower, so I was disappointed because of the other reviews. The shower was constantly changing temperature, and was only a trickle of water, so not a great experience. All up, I would probably pay a bit more for a three star hotel next time, but overall I consider this hotel pretty good value for money.

"Good and bad"

The hotel had some water problems when we arrived so they put us in the truly awful hotel next door (Roma, I think it was). It was a shabby place with nothing going for it. Sweet Home then put us in their own room for our second night - the room was nice, clean and decently furnished and the old guy at reception is helpful and friendly. However, I'm still astonished that they didn't give us a discount for the first night debacle so I'm not giving it a positive review, and would not go there again as a result. You're better off staying in the centre.

Pros: The concierge, frank, who greeted us on arrival was fabulous. he confirmed all our tours from rome without asking, gave us directions to various places, took our luggage to our room when it was ready. very positive first impression. the room was small but fitted 3 people well and had what was needed and very clean. well located for transport, affordable restaurants and termini. would stay there again.

"Staff are helpful"

Pros: Staff are helpful. very good location, very near the termini metro and rail station.
Cons: You have to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs before you can get into the lift. although the room was big, it had very poor lighting, a television that didn't work and air conditioning that is very poor. the bathroom was too small and cramped.

Cons: I know it is very difficault to find a smoking hotel in rome, so i based my search also on this condition. hotel sweet home said, it has "a non-smoking room upon request", so i thought the others are automatically smoking rooms - well, the whole building was non smoking..
