Nice location, nice place, close to train station(Gare de'l Est, Paris) and easy to go everywhere in paris by MRT, bus and by walking. There are many food and drink in this area. I like this hotel very much.

"The hotel was less than what I expected."

I arrived the Hotel de Lorraine on the 20th May, 2012 and they were not certain that I had booked till I produce the print of the booking confirmation, then it took about 1 hour to get a room ready.I did not like the room (it was extra small with no side tables, fridge etc) so I found another hotel and booked to move the next day. When I informed the hotel i was told i have to pay for 2 nights even though I was staying for only 1 night. I agreed and paid for 2 nights and moved the next morning (21st May, 2012). The following day (22nd May, 2012) there was a deduction of $114.64 on my debit card by Sounni Hotel. when this hpotel was googled I discovered it was Hotel de Lorraine. Upon making a complaint The Hotel de Lorraine said it was a mistake and that they will reverse the deduction. On the 25th May, 2012 this was done ($104.00) making me to loose $10.64. This hotel has 2 names which is deceptive and since I paid cash they should by your regulations not have taken money from my card, this is fraudulent.

Pros: The young staff was helpful
Cons: Bedsheets & covers are old and stained; room smelled of smoke & cigarettes; we had difficulty communicating as only one staff spoke english; could hear sounds/conversations of people in other rooms;

"Close to gare de l'est"

Pros: Close to gare de l'est
Cons: The hotel was dirty, the door was difficult to get into. the "salle de bains" facilities were awful and i needed to climb stairs, because the lift didn't look safe. the tv didn't work and there were only 2 beds instead of 3

The young staff was helpful
