"Our time in NYC"

Location is excellent. Rooms are very small and there is no noise insulation. Initially had a 7th floor room which was very poor but was not made up and they shifted us to the 2nd floor which was a better room. If you stay here you need ear plugs and be prepared for a bed that is not comfy. Did have a small fridge and microwave and 2 blocks from Zabar's which is awesome for food.

"The Riverside Towers Hotel Today"

The Riverside Towers Hotel is a great place to stay for people in the know who want or need to keep the cost down and still stay in a great location. The rooms have always been clean with basic kitchen facilities, but now they have also been refurbished. A special bonus worth noting: a view of the Hudson River!

"not recommmended"

the hotel is really run down with no maintaince at all. we stayed on 5th floor, was shocked once came out lift. didn't preapre ourself with such condition in New York! it was like in third world country. each door to the room had different colur , holds in bathroom, broken smll aircondition unit is inside closet which leave no room for suitcase . the location is great, and quiet. one of staff is very friendly.

"Nice hotel on the west side - top service"

Conveniently located near metro stop and Central Park. Next to Riverside Park this is a quiet area. Price for the location is very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.Nice hotel for families as well.

"Good value, tiny rooms"

The service is good, the common area is useful and the price can't be beaten if you need to put 4 people in a room, because you get more privacy with the suites. But the rooms are very small and the corridor smells horrible. Would stay again only if on a tight budget. The area is great!

"good hotel"

I was in the hotel in July 2012. It was a pleasant, quiet stay. Opposite the hotel there is the Hudson River Park. The bus goes right up to the hotel. The staff is very nice. Better not. Ideal for solo travelers.

"Good value"

The hotel is old and the rooms are small but clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a shame that the wi-fi only works in the lobby but it's for free so it's manageable. The nearest subway is 79th Stret only 5 minutes walk and there's a Zabar's only 2 blocks away on Broadway. There's a deli only a few minutes walk from the hotel. I would definately come back the next time I'm in New York :-)

"Good rate and location, poor rooms"

The location and the reception care are very good. Old Hotel will need a restauration. We reserved a suite 3 persons: the rooms we got were really small, the single ok but the double was in a space for a single one. Even the bathroom was really sacrified.But how we pay canceled these problems: the rate is very good to stay in Manhattan.

"cheap and clean"

For a last minute booked hotel, it was exactly what we needed.The bedroom was a little small, and so was the bed, but everything was very clean. The view was really nice. The bathroom and the linenswere very clean.Location was also good beacause you are really close from the metro !

"great bang for the buck!"

We thought this hotel was a terrific bargain! We loved the location, the staff couldn't have been more pleasant, the view from our room was lovely, and the place was wonderfully clean! That being said, if you are looking for luxury, this hotel is not for you, as the furnishings and room size are most akin to the experience of staying in your old aunty's tiny spare bedroom. (But who comes to NY to hang out in their hotel room, anyway?) My only "complaint": I must recommend they invest in new doors! Anyone with a credit card could have jimmied their way in to our room with ease, as it practically hung off the hinges, with only a simple doornob lock. -kinda like a loose-hinged bathroom door. We had no problems with theft, but we were concerned enough to leave our valuables locked in the car.I am going to say "yes" to recommending this hotel to a friend, and I would definately return, but must qualify by saying that my more high-maintenance friends would not be interested in this hotel at all.

Cons: The rooms are very tiny but then again it's the cons of being in manhattan! the wall are also paper thin as we can hear everything going on in the rooms nest to ours.
