Hotel Ajax D R Amsterdam  

The room was very small and there's no lift.The stair case was so narrow and we have to carry all our luggage (3 pcs)by our own which each of them weight approx. 20 kgs to 2nd floor .Luckily when the first day we check in a lady (could be the daughter of the owner)help us to carry it because at that time i was having pain at my back(slip disc).The last day when we check out a man at the reception was very rude because when we try to ask him whether can we take our breakfast a bit early (about 7.45am) since we have to leave at 8.15am to the airport and he told us no although everything are already set up for the breakfast which start at 8.00am.The worst part is when we ask him to book a taxi for us he was so upset and although he did book the taxi for us but for us he is very unfriendly at all.

not a bad hotel, only good if your just going to sleep in the rooms, as they are quite small, bathroom was very small, they only had two working plug sockets in the room, and one was connected to the Tv's through out the hotel so you couldnt unplug it. they had some lose wires nearly got an electric shock :/ i would stay there again as long as it was very cheap, staff are nice and speak pretty good english.

Dirty bedding, filthy curtains, carpets, bathroom, windows etc.Breakfast served from carrier bags.Staff not interested.Disgusting dont waste your money

It would take me quite a while to list all the problems for this hotel so I won't bother. All I will say is find a different hotel, the staff and the hotel itself are just awful!

Great location, but breakfast was very basic, not even any toast, but I would recomend this hotel to some1, just not the breakfasts! Also the stairs are very steep so b careful, worth it for the location though, was nice to go back there and be able to smoke a joint :)

Cons: Very basic room. very expensive on weekends. tv did not work. bathroom tiny and poor lighting.

Cons: The hotel badly needs a make-over! the safety is very poor (specially the electricity). i was to stay in this hotel because of the location. but i would never recommend it to anyone for the price i paid!

Pros: This hotel was really perfect for our stay in amsterdam. the hotel was really cozy and in the middle of the center. the location was as perfect as it could get. public transport was just across the street. rooms was clean, quite and cozy. perfect to get to, after a long day of sight seeing in the city. we also received breakfast every morning! i would recommend this hotel to anybody!

Pros: I stayed here with a friend and came to amsterdam to enjoy the city’s most beautiful sights! therefore i was happy with this hotel, which had an amazing location with publictransport just outside the door. also a nice thing about this hotel is that is is owned by a family, which makes the hotel cozy, warm and the staff very helpful. it was no trouble to recommend us a restaurant in the neighbourhood (there are plenty of them). all together: it was a great trip and we enjoyed the ajax hotel very much!

Pros: We visited this hotel and all had an amzing time and were very happy with our choice of hotel. the rooms were clean and breakfast was good. mostly we were happy about the location! also, safe hotel for our teenage children.

Pros: The hotel was easy to find and very central in amsterdam within walking distance to many attractions. staff at ajax are all very nice and helpful beds are so comfortable everything is clean and tidy i would stay at this hotel again.
Cons: Missed having tea/coffee making facilities, we drink a lot of tea we had to go downstairs to fetch tea from machine in reception that i would say was the only negative thing about hotel

Pros: We had a really good time. the hotel has areally good location so that you don’t need public transportation. everything is in walking distance! rooms were lovely and clean, breakfast was good! all together a hotel that was worth our money.

Pros: The location is the best in amsterdam and the staff is very nice.
