We stayed at the Travelodge for three nights. Yes, the furniture is from the 1980s and the bed spreads and the curtains look like they have not been changed in 40 years; but for the price and the location - less than a block from Michigan Ave- I couldn't have asked for more. Would probably stay at a less dated place if I could have afforded it, but I only went to the hotel to sleep, so this worked just fine.

Pros: Good location in the loop area.
Cons: No chair in the room. needed to request one twice before getting it. otherwise, there was no way to do any paperwork. even with a chair, there was no real table on which to work. i had to improvise one using the night stand between the beds.
the flow restrictor on the hot water (both lavatory and bathtub) was a real nuisance. i needed to soak my left foot in warm water regularly after some minor surgery, but this was impossible because by the time enough water got into the bathtub, it had become cold.
although there was a shelf in the bathroom for holding new towels and washcloths, there were no bars on which to hang them after they had been used (and so they could be used again).

Pros: Excellent location, friendly staff, mattresses excellent, plenty of clean towells!
