Paris Hotel Le Mediterraneen    

We choose this hotel online from London and when we arrived we were a bit dissapointed. The room was at third floor- no lift, stairs very narrow.The room was clean but the beds diffrent from what we expected (bunk bed and double bed instead of two single)Wii fi access not very good. (given new password each day

This hotel whilst small is in a good location with easy walk (5 mins) to 2 main stations. There are a few good grocery types stores within 2-3 minutes walk.

For families having 3 children (more then average of 2), this is a very convenient Hotel close by Gare de Lyon. There are a couple of restaurants and supermarket close by (around the corner). The owners / household / service providers are very helpful more than the normal services.

We stayed four nights, family of five. The location was very good close to Gare de Lyon, metrostation and walking distance to Notre Dame and Louvre. If you prefer location over luxury this is a good choice. Room had four beds and one extra, private bathroom and a TV. Service. We only got four towels and after cleaning only two but got more after asking in reception. You can hear all doors slamming and people talking, bring earplugs. If you accept simple room at nice location this could be it.

Pros: When i step into the hotel, the receptionist great us with her beautiful smile. she guide us and planned something for our trip cause we came without any plan. she is very kind and helpful when we needed. i recommended this hotel for anyone who want to visit paris. the location surround with japanese and italian cuisine and just 5 minutes walk from gare de lyon, which i found it very important for us to travel around. explore the surrounding of the hotel if you can cause i love the environment there. have an enjoyable trip with this hotel!

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent location in the heart of paris. an excellent hotel for the price.
Cons: Internet only really works in the lobby.

Pros: The staff was very friendly. great neighborhood. room was clean, nothing fancy. perfect for families of 4.
Cons: I was told by the website that breakfast was included, but upon check-in i was told by the staff that the website made an error.

Pros: Staff were friendly, polite and helpful and even made it possible for me to have breakfast earlier than usual - breakfast buffet selection good and all set up & ready early
Cons: My room had definitely been used before by a smoker
muffy smell in bathroom. not a problem for me, but there was no lift & stairways & corridors narrow - not so easy for carting suitcases!

Pros: It's clean and good condition
Cons: There is no lift, no parking for whole day, staff didn't speak english, internet didn't work

Pros: Simple but clean. good reception with orange juice and croissant. brought up my case on stairs to fourth floor . good bed. clean room. good continental breakfeast well attended.
Cons: Poor entrance that could be more clean. five floors without lift. toilet out of the bedroom, when i choosed a "classic bedroom" said toilet included (however they returned me 8 euros for the dissatisfaction). the light did not work, was dark in bathroom lavabo and shower , plus a terrible smell of urine. no drinking glass. just one bath towel, but soap and shower liquid soap.

Pros: The main people who work throughout the day our pretty nice and helpful and the hotel is right next to two subways so it is easy and fairly quick to go into central paris to see the sights.
Cons: It is sketchy that this hotel does not allow you to keep your key throughout the day and ask you give it back before you leave for the sights and pick it up again on the way in. the overnight staff man is a bit older and doesn't understand much english and at first told us we hadn't given back the key at first even though we had. after ten minutes of yelling at 2 am when we were so exhausted he finally found it...right in front of him. also, on our way out we had soo much baggage and asked if they would call us a taxi to go to the airport but they said they did not know the number and told us to walk to the station where taxis were. very sketchy and not helpful those ways!

Pros: Very friendly and efficient reception staff. easy walking distance to gard de lyon for transfer to rer or metro.
Cons: Not signed for le mediterraneen but just look for street number. narrow stairs if have heavy luggage.

Pros: Great location. good family room for older kids.
Cons: Narrow staircase for getting up large bags.

Pros: The rooms are small as you would expect. but for the price, they are a good deal. the location is close to gare de lyon station and the metro. there are a number of great bistros in the area, laundromats, internet cafes, and shops. there is an amazing bakery two blocks away that is a must-visit. it was a great hotel for a vacationer like myself who wasn't planning on spending much time in the room. my room was clean and my bathroom was nice (they have shared bathrooms for some rooms, but i didn't have to deal with that fortunately).
Cons: The shower leaked a little. the water pipes made a lot of noise at night (i assume it was the heating system). and the wifi was very unreliable. but those things weren't a big deal when you consider the price.

Pros: Staff helped us with the luggage, good location, not too far from the gare de lyon
Cons: Very hard to find because the name is not there! they call themselves paris hotel and there's no sign of the name 'le mediterraneen', we spent a long time walking around and passing the hotel twice before we realised it's the same hotel we're looking for! poor direction on the map. the location is not bad but the map and the direction are very poor and no name on the hotel building!

Cons: The booking confirmation had no specific directions from the train station to the hotel. even though we knew there were no lifts or esculators no one told us that there were tiny spiral stairs to the top floor which makes it almost impossible for any one to haul luggage up to the fourth floor where we were situated. there was no airconditioning or fans in the rooms and paris was experiencing a heat wave of 33 degrees celcius. the day before our departure we tried to make a pre-booking for a taxi at the hotel reception which could take us to the train station or the airport. we were told it would not be a problem and that if we came back the next day, one hour before our departure, they would call for a taxi and there would be no problem. however when our departure time arrived, the hotel staff could suddenly not find a taxi for us in the whole of paris. as a result we had to walk with our baggage to the station in a heat wave. for mature travellers such as our selfs, this was extremely difficult and exhausting. another point which needs mentioning is that there were no kettles, cups , eletricity points for hairdryers or even a remote for the tv! as a result of all the above mentioned our stay in paris was not as convenient and enjoyable as any enthusiastic traveller would have desired and honestly i would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Pros: Good location, easy to reach public transportation means.
Cons: 1. no elevator, if you have big luggage, please don't choose this hotel.
2. the floor height is very low, feel narrow all the time, and in the bath room you can't stand still.
3. wireless network signal only covers the lobby area, you need to go downstairs always to use internet connection.
4. there's no refrigator in the room, imagine it's very hot and you can't find cool beverage, by the way, on the website it mentioned there's mini-bar in the room?
