Hotel Prins Hendrik Amsterdam  

The hotel was excellently situated opposite the station and right on the corner of the red light district.The staff were all friendly and helpful,the breakfasts plentiful and varied and the room large,warm and bright.The restaurant was also good value.My only criticism is that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.For good value and ease of access in and out of Amsterdam I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel has excellent location, everything is close, the room has no hair dryer, no drinks, tea, coffe in room. But breakfast is very good and fresh. I could stay in this place once again. The price for a night is rather high, about 80 euro per person.

Average hotel at average Amsterdam price in extremely handy location directly across from central station. A lot of Dam hotels can be old, run down and dirty. This one is just old so bearing in mind the handy location it's a good choice for weekenders. Bring cash to pay for a short stay as you'll end up paying around €25 extra for using credit card over three nights.. Rooms were clean, beds super comfy and it was quite where I was at back of hotel. If having a lie in and cleaning have to come back later remind them at desk on way out. Also make sure you have towels before jumping in the shower!

Room smelled like someone was smoking in our room all night. The bathroom is old end the price compared to the quality is to high. The location is good, its in the citycenter but thats the only positive thing about this hotel

The hotel is located right in front of the central bus station (less then 5 minutes walking),which makes it very convenient.the included breakfast is sufficient, the staff is very polite and the room was quite nice.the water pressure was very low though but possible to wash long hairs with.will come back next year for sure.

The location of the Prins Hendrik was perfect for us since we were arriving and departing Amsterdam by train. The hotel is situated at a five minute walk from the station. Trams depart from the area frequently, as well, to other attractions in the city.Our room was clean and comfortable but was certainly not luxurious. Considering the price, there were few amenities in the room but we spent very little time there so it wasn't really an issue. Breakfast was adequate.Because of the location, we would stay there again.

the breakfest wasn't good at all. Room quality could be better. No decent tv or radio and no fridge in the room

The only reason I would say anything bad about this hotel is because I want to make sure I can get a room there the next time I go. We loved the place and the people.

Had a pleasent stay at the Prins Hendrick. Room was very large with lots of natural light (although light bulbs in room could have been a bit brighter for getting ready in evening) and very clean. Breakfast was very nice and reception staff very friendly. Bar staff were lovely too.Only downfall was that we were told by reception staff that we could have our room till 12 noon as we were catching a late train, but at 11am sharp we had a knock at our door by a maintenance man who was a little bit rude telling us that we would need to leave the room and he would give us 30 minutes to do so.On the whole we had a good stay and I would reccommend hotel.

During my visit to Amsterdam I had the pleasure of staying at the Prins Hendrik hotel . Upon arival the service from the staff was excellent . They were polite and very helpful . The hotel was very nice and the location was brilliant . I would stay there again in the future .

Great hotel , location and friendly staff room size good as was bathroom, only thing missing was tea and coffee making facilitys other than that great and would recomend this hotel and stay there again.

When searching for a one night stay in Amsterdam my first requirement was the hotel's location to Central Station. The Prins Hendrik fit the bill. We were able to check our luggage at Central Station and walk to the Hotel in less than ten minutes. We enjoyed the bar downstairs, the bartender was very helpful, he loaned us an umbrella as it was raining. We returned to the Hotel for dinner, the roasted chicken was very good. The next morning's breakfast, included in the price of the room, was very nice. A ten minute walk back to Central Station, picked up our luggage and we were off to the airport and homeward bound.Thanks for an enjoyable stay!

A good hotel, literally 5 minutes walk from Central Station. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast included - great choice.Very very noisy. Had to keep window open because of the heat so could hear everything from square outside. After outside cafe closes, square becomes taxi rank. So noise continues throught night Open window an invitation to mosquitoes to have a right good meal!

Friendly, helpful staff. Great location. We loved our room, it gave a real feel of being in a dutch house.Shame no tea & coffee facilities in the room, but a great choice for breakfast.

We would definitely recommend this hotel. The first staff member we dealt with face-to-face was excellent at his job: professional, efficient – but also genuinely friendly and very funny. I personally loved his work. He booked us on to a great canal cruise immediately upon our arrival (after I enquired whether he knew of any boat rides we could do), and he catered to our other enquiries quickly and – more importantly – with a very positive personality. He made us feel welcome and as if we were going to have a terrific time, which to me is very important when I travel. Hats off to him.We had requested a double BED in our booking, to which we received an email response saying there were none available. We really appreciated this because some hotels just don’t reply because they want you to turn up anyway. Despite the impending lack of a double bed, we actually decided to keep our booking, and turn up and see what happened. It turned out that we were put in a HUGE room with four beds, two of which were ‘converted’ into one reasonably comfortable double bed.We had an excellent view of the street below, and as a tobacco smoker, I appreciated being able to smoke with the (large) window open.The bathroom was just fine, without being anything special. The room was the same (but big!)We liked the fact that wi-fi was available for only 5 euro per 24hrs, as was a safety deposit box. Yes, this added 10 euro per night to our stay but it still turned out much cheaper than some other hotels with similar services.All in all, we would stay at this hotel again in a flash. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not luxury nor perfection, but it was a friendly and efficient home base, which was what we were looking for.

Location for the train and town was very good, I had a room off the hotel itself but it was very spacious and clean, given how cold it was outside the room was nice and warm. The only less than positive comment; the stairs upto the room which could have been quite tricky for some.All in all, very good accomodation for the price. :)

The hotel is fine clean and very central for site seeing etc. but outside noise can be a problem also keeping key on reception is ok as they have 24 hour coverage (but one key for a room sleeping 4 people can lead to sleepless nights for the first person to get back as they will be up and down letting the stragglers in)
