Vivaldi Hotel Amsterdam    

15 minutes walk from the center of the city. Room small, but rather comfortable and clean. Cheap and good breakfast (3 Euro). 5 minutes walking to the nearest coffeeshop Our room was located at the last floor, sometimes it was difficult to go up by the stairs.

Me and my friends spent some days in Amsterdam (07-12/02/2013).The room was cleaned every day, and it was really quiet.I dedicate it to every sightseeing tourist :)Too much these 200 characters, visit the Vivaldi or Paganini :)

Hotel was a very low standard..I had a single room on the top floor..The duvets looked like they had never been washed..Dont ask about the pillows..Luckily the room was warm so didnt need the bedding..The wall paper was peeling off on every wall and the bathroom was so tiny that the toilet was obstucted by the sink so unless you were 2ft you couldnt sit on it..The shower was however very good..Im sure for the money there are better hotels closer to the city.

From the reviws we had read before arriving, we were quite scared. so it was an unexpected surprise to find the room and the bathroom clean and nice. The room was small, but ideal and had very good price comparing to the other hotels in town.

The room was filled with a horrible sewer stench, the bed wasn't good at all... my girlfirend and I were both attracted to the middle of the bed because it was way too soft and we could feel the springs of the mattress between our ribs.Also, the service was really bad and hotel employees not friendly at all.Well overall, it was quite fun because we preferred to take it that way.Only good thing was the location, near Museumplein etc...

The location of the hotel is great for the museum district of Amsterdam but if you have a room facing the street you won't get much sleep. We moved rooms after 1 night to the back of the hotel, much better! The whole place needs refurbishing & the rooms so small there's no point unpacking. Don't bother with the 3 euro breakfast, you get what you pay for, better off going to one of the cafes nearby.

Good service. Rooms are a bit small but really clean. The place is quiet. The only negative point is the cold wat in bathroom.

If you are looking for an hotel where you are not staying at the hotel much, this is the place for you. Everything is ok, and great value for the money. There are a lot good places to party right near by, and Rembrantplain is only a short walk away. This is a great hotel to stay at if you are in Amsterdam to party

I am going to keep this short, you will not be dissatisfied with location vondelpark, canal trips, heneiken brewery next door and close to Amsterdam centre. Downfalls included a meeting with a female receptionist upon our arrival after having travelling most of the day in the heavy rain we were made to get euros instead of sterling which forced us to face the rain again and for longer than hoped because we didn't know the area and had to find the right tram to get to a currency shop furthermore she waS rude and lacked any customer service. Cleanliness wasn't the best during our stay in the landing a swastika was painted on the walls in blood although small it waS offensive and wasn't cleaned for days. It is assumed that you smoke if you travel to Amsterdam and it was made abruptly clear we were not welcome despite one of us not being a smoker. Amsterdam is amazing but if you want comfort, pleasant service and cleanliness this is not the place for you.

For the amount of money that we paid, the hotel was excellent. Great location, easy to find and strong transport links. The service was precise and to the point, although no small talk to make you like the receptionist. The 24 hour service at reception was useful with lots of information and discounts available. From reading past reviews we were a bit worried about the room before hand, however when we entered we found it perfect for the price: small, cosy and the bed were extremely comfy. The sheets were changed every two days with new towels and general cleanness done daily. The bathroom was small, but fantastic facilities (good water pressure). I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a budget hotel that is great value and in a fabulous location.

The room was literally the size of a closet. 1.5 armspans long, 1 armspan wide. For nearly $1000 for 8 nights I expected a little more. Had I been notified of the size of the room I never would've booked with this hotel. It was absolutely horrible!!!!

Location is very good, however it is the worst place I have ever seen, room was extremely small, only the bed occupied the whole space, the service was terrible, they didn't even care there was people staying there. The place looked awful and the bed wasn't even a bed!!! I know these places are cheap but I stayed another night in a different hostel for the same price and it was 10 times better so there are no excuses!

Basic room and breakfast. Lack of good service. Some staff really rude and not service minded at all.

I've stayed in Vidaldi Hotel the night of 18th April and I was fully satisfied considering the purpose of my visit which was to attend a retirement farewell of a friend in Heineken Experience located 2 minutes walk!Everything worked as expected but a Single room/bed is what it really means! To someone above average size I would recommend a double bed for his comfort overnight. Dutch people are above medium size and I would expect to find their beds re-sized accordingly!!!

My expectations weren't that high after the reviews I read. But when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the room was tiny and no one came to clean it, but at least it was on the third floor and had a window with a nice view over the backyard, from which we could hear birds in the morning. There was no sign of rats or bedbugs and nothing was stolen. Only the fact that there was no elevator in our building and that the lady at the reception didn't speak English and ignored us for about 5 minutes while we just stood there makes me give the hotel 1* in service. The location is quite nice. It's next to the Heineken brewery and walking about 150m north you can find some coffee shops. But, if you want to explore the Red Light District and other parts of the city, you'd better buy a OV-card (for trams) or rent a bicycle because otherwise you'll spend a lot of time walking to your destination.All in all me and my friends would recommend this hotel to anyone who just needs a place to sleep and doesn't need a good service.

The shower and bathroom were modern, clean, and there was an abundance of hot water and water pressure,! The rooms were small with little furniture. old curtains and small beds but they were clean and comfortable with duvets. We never had the breakfast but the breakfast room came with a microwave, coffee machine and tableware --convenient for late risers like me. The staff was nice and helpful.

Pros: The room is clean.

Cons: The location is a bit far from the central station n town. u need to take tram to go to the shopping area.

Pros: Great value for money especially regarding very good hotel location. they made me feel like a valued customer. perfect for young people who prefer to walk home from parting during nights. clean room on arrival.
Cons: No elevator, no regular cleaning of rooms, poor english at receptionist desk, small room without a wardrobe, loud noise from the street, bed was extremely soft. difficult access to the building: using intercom to explain your personal details every time, including day time and despite key cards. room and reception not in the same building.
