This hotel was very expensive for 3 nights. It was in a good quiet location but at night the local bars made it very noisy until 3 am. The rooms were minimalist to the point of austerity and while clean were uncomfortable.

Excellent value for the location. Walls quite thin so some noise with people returning at night and some noise from the street but definitely not excessive. Made use of all day free drinks and fruit but would have liked a change from apples. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Wish we had paid for breakfast. Central location just off Ramblas made it expensive to have breakfast out. Great shower!!!! and comfy beds.

We had a positive experience at Onix Liceo. The hotel was clean and recently renovated. The staff were kind and very helpful (allowed us to check in early, provided us with a map of the city, gave us tips for places to visit and how to keep safe, and set-up a taxi pick-up for us in the morning). Free coffee, tea, water and apples available 24 hours a day.

Hotel looked good and had some nice touches, free water and black coffee but when it came to having a good nights sleep-forget it.I asked for a room at the back as I knew it was near a noisy bar but was given the room nearest the bar.The first night I finally got to sleep around 5am, after the bar had closed. The following nights were interupted by street noise, especially skateboarders!Apart from street noise the walls of the rooms must be made of paper, the noise from showers in adjoining rooms was unbelievable. It sounded like someone was actually in my bathroom. Door slamming in the early hours was also a problem.The beds were so hard it felt like you were sleeping on a mortuary slab, and blankets were not comfortable either.Shame really, the facilities otherwise were good, but lets face it-sleep quality was poor.

This hotel is a bit on the high end but it's worth the money if you prefer:-best location (7 minutes walk from Barcelona Port, 3 minutes from Las Ramblas, and a few hundred meters from Palau Guell-Room quality & cleanliness is excellent- Very friendly staff-Very good breakfast-Internet service is great, print free- water bottle is provided - this is a plus!

We arrived in Barcelona at 6/3/12. The hotel was in a central location and ideal for exploring Barcelona. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast offered a great choice. There was also coffee, fruit and water on offer to help yourself to throughout the day. We will definitely return to the Onix Liceo and have already recommended it to friends.

we arrived in barcelona at 19.10 on a saturday night after a train journey from alicant so we were looking forward to a shower and then going out for an explore and something to eat along the Ramblas. the hotel is perfectly positioned for anyone wanting to stroll around the rambla and to visit the mercat Boqueria. the hotel was clean and the shower was fab. we will definitely return to the Onix Liceo and have already recommended it to friends back in the UK.

Pros: Only when i check out because the staff was faster than the previous.
Cons: It should be below 4 star hotel; when i come to check in at 2pm they told me to wait for 1 hr because the room was not ready yet; free wifi was only available at the lobby and not in the room, you have to go down to lobby just to use the internet which was very bad; there was too many drinks in the fridge, when i check it was already expired,maybe it was from previous guest and they didn't bother to remove it and lying there for some months;they have only 1 key and you can hear the noise when they are cleaning other rooms;i requested double size bed and they put together 2 single size beds

Pros: Very clean, great pool area and nice touch to have free coffee and water and wifi. very good rain showers in room.
Cons: Rooms very basic, would like to have a safe in the room, aircon didnt work very well we would have been in trouble if the weather was hotter! we booked a double room and go one with 2 single beds!!!! why cant they understand double bed in europe is not two singles!!!! urgh!

Cons: Whilst the staff on the whole were extremely helpful the young man who checked us in when we arrived was rather miserable. as our rooms faced the main street it was rather noisy at night but this would not prevent me staying in this hotel again.

Pros: The hotel is in a fantastic location. the initial impression was very good and our room was cleaned to a very high standard. the reception staff were very helpful. it is an ideal location for a sightseeing trip in barcelona.

Cons: The way the hotel is built,there is a central square with the rooms leading off because of no outside windows this makes it very noisy of an evening when trying to sleep.
