Booked this hotel not knowing much about the area.Luckily on arrival at Place d'Catalunya 22:30 we found the Metro.Still unsure of where we were heading,had a little help off a friend.She put us in the right direction.Unfortunately we got off the Metro 2 stops too soon.You need to get on Metro at Urquanaona and get off at Llacuna.The hotel is a short 10 minute walk.The area from the Metro is a bit run down,but there is work going on to improve the area.Once at Hotel things dramatically improved.Quality hotel,and less than 100 metres around the corner in the opposite direction is a very nice street with an array shops,restaurants and bars.All your needs are catered for.The city centre is walkable in around 45 mins.But would recommend the Metro at 2 euros each.Public Transport is very reasonable at 2 euros.Taxis are a little more expensive,but plenty of them.All in all had an excellent stay at this hotel and completed all sightseeing required.Just one thing on the sightseeing.On our first day we bought a day ticket for the city sightseeing bus to get our bearings to view the city.Should of paid the extra 7 euros(31 euros) for a 2 day pass.Well worth it.Must do's. Sagrada Familiar,Park Guell The Gothic quarter,The dancing fountains and for spectacular views of the city,take the cable car up to the castle for views of the harbour and city.Will definately visit Barcelona again,And would use this hotel.

Greatvlocation just 5 mins from the beach & metro,hotel room very spacious & a bath which is a bonus , the rooftop pool is amazing with a great view. There are a few minus points the reception staff were rude(as per most reviews) & for £100 per night i would at least expect tea & coffee making facilities in the room however overall a good clean hotel

I think that the hotel was above my expectations. the rooms were large and comfortable. The rooms could have been done a little cozier. rooftop pool was great! service was good, and also good that each day wap refill of water. cleanliness was alright, but could have been much better! when you're on vacation, you do not have to clean yourself. something that was so good was that it was impossible to getenglish speech on TV. very good with free Wifi. good location, close to bus, metro, beach, town, shopping, restaurants

Cons: Swimming pool area was closed, and this was the enticing element of the hotel when i booked it, and there was no information about it on the website. also i was on the 8th floor which could not receive wifi.
the gym is just 3 machines which doesn't really constitute a gym for majority of people. and lastly there was no bar or coffee shop in hotel which was slightly odd.

Pros: The hotel was 20 mins from bcn airport which was fab. it was a 10 min walk to the gorgeous beach, walking distance to the metro which was a brillant way of getting around, so easy, poble nou rambles was right outside for coffe shops and restaurant, republic cafe was our fav and cafe bleu. hotel was clean room nice but no atmosphere in the hotel. thought was quite expensive as well. good hotel for a base but nothing much else to offer.

Pros: The hotel was very clean with a well staffed and helpful reception area. the swimming pool was a bonus especially with young children. 5 minute walk from the beach and metro.
Cons: Children under 12 stayed free, however we expected that one child was to share a bed with two adults. this was not so and we were lucky to been given one double and a single.

Pros: Clean, spacious, nice personell- even thogh we met a young man who didn´t even understand the word "five".....
Cons: Internet standard very poor! breakfast excelent even though i missed fresh orange juice in the country of naranja! i also believe that you have better bread culture in spain than what was available at the hotel. the pool on the roof looked much bigger on the website. we felt a bit disappointed about that. but it didn´t realy matter with the sea next door. what about flowers? it means a lot to the feeling of luxury. flowerpots by the pool and by the entrance should have soften up the strict stile a little.
