Galileo Hotel Tel Aviv  

The Galileo was perfect for my needs, it is centrally located and only five minutes from both the beach and heart of Tel Aviv. There are some great restaurants and pubs right on the doorstep and the staff are really helpful. All-in-all a clean, safe and friendly establishment. A real bonus in such a heavy smoking culture as Israel is that the hotel enforces a strict no-smoking policy; a godsend for a non-smoker like myself.

Small hotel in a very nice part of town very close to carmel market. Rooms are small and quite loud, but not expensive. Perfect place to go out, but none to sleep till noon.

First things first - Tel Aviv is young and happening city, it’s safe, vibrant and seems to be a real magnet for the young (lucky things). I chose this hotel because I needed to be at the train station early the next morning, this hotel was the closest with reasonable reviews so wasn’t really looking for much else but a bed for the night at a reasonable price, which for the centre it was. The hotel was pretty clean though quite quirky and the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you want a clinical fancy business hotel with all mod cons don’t stay here – there is no double glazing and there was certainly a fair bit of street noise from all those lucky people with no early morning train to catch. The bed was quite hard which didn’t help having had quite a rough night – though in fairness I think I was more worried about missing the train. Bathroom – bit of a let-down if I’m honest, the room stated it was a Jacuzzi bath; not clean enough for me by a long way (standing room only). In summary, this is a young person’s place – in the right location, would I come back? Yes if I was 20 years younger. Enjoy Tel Aviv – I wished I could have stayed longer.
