 "Close encounters"
I stayed at the Rialto as I was meeting a friend from Australia in Venice for a few days, and he was booked in there. My room was fabulous, his not so much, but the location could not be bettered. Very warm, which was handy as it was freezing outside. Close to Rialto Bridge, just 1 hour on the Aliliguna waterbus - which stops outsdie the hotel - from Aereporto, and ten minutes walk from St marks Squarel! Breakfast more than adequate, altbhough the tea could have been hotter. The Americano coffee was piping hot. It was the second Rialto hotel I have stayed in, the other being the very grand and expensive one in Colins Street, Melbourne. Luckily January is off-seaon so I got a centrally located bargain

the hotel did not offer free internet, which was unusual considering that all the hotels we stayed in throughout our trip offered free internet service to all its guests.
