New Hotel Gare du Nord Paris

Great location with a friendly and helpful front desk staff. The room was adequate and clean. The breakfast was decent and a good way to atart the day. They need better pillows and towels, and two single beds pushed together don't make for a full size. I would not expect much more from the class of hotel that this is. I would stay here again.

ew Nord was to be my last stay before returning home; however my luggage was lost at the Brussels airport. I cut my vacation short to have time to retrieve it. I cancelled my reservation at New Nord, but they insisted it was too late and charged full price for a room I did not stay in. I called to see if they would consider a lower fee. The person answering the phone would not allow me to talk to the manager - he repeated their policy over and over - he interrupted me and did not allow me to plead my case. He was confrontational and took offense when I tried to speak.

Hotel in great location next to railway. Rooms small but adequate. Bed was average and pillows too flat with no option of a second pillow. Lift in awkward position, hard to get luggage in and out of lifts, it is midway to floors and opens right onto the steps. Bathroom had just been renovated and was very nice, great big TV. Rooms not very soundproof when others were accessing their rooms. Being the middle of winter I expected warmer bed covers.

The staff here were exceptionally helpful & went out of their way to assist in any way possible. A gorgeous cleaner whose only English words were 'clean, clean, clean'. The bathroom was modern and immaculate and we loved the experience of the lift. Close proximity to trains, tour buses and nice restaurants.Many thanks to everyone at Gare Du Nord you made myself and my two girls very welcome.

I think this is a good functional hotel / easy / clean - staff was helpful and friendly.Very easy and comfortable stay - clean, quiet - I would recommend this hotel.

could not be handier for gare du nord,it is literally just across the street. Rooms are clean and well decorated ,the bathroom has all you need.The reception staff could not be faulted,friendly and a mine of information.The breakfast room is small and a little cramped. All in all you get what you pay for and perhaps a little more.

Hotel was just what we expected. Close to the train station. Small rooms. Tiny lift. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Good hub for transport links.

We chose this hotel for our trip to Paris because it was across the street from Gare du Nord train station, where we were arriving from London on Eurostar. And yes indeed, it was literally a 1-minute walk across the street to the hotel once we stepped out of the train station. Couldn't have been easier to find. As far as the hotel itself, it's a decent enough building and the rooms are typical European small sized rooms. Our room was clean and well maintained and was fairly recently remodeled. It was probably around 150 sq ft in size for the double room (2 people, 1 bed). The bed was comfortable, there was little outside noise, and we slept well.This hotel is directly on the route of many of the public bus lines, so it's really easy to get around Paris from this location. Also there are quite a few good restaurants, grocery stores, and bakeries (brasseries) in the area so there's no lack of food, beer, wine, and other supplies to be found within a few minutes walk.Best of all is the staff who work the front desk. Both of the young men we dealt with were VERY helpful in giving directions and advice about how to get places, even walking outside and telling us exactly where to go to catch buses, etc. They were great and we appreciated their help very much, and they speak good English.The only down side to this hotel is the neighborhood. The location itself is great and during the day it's fine, but at night it gets a little dicey as a different element of night life comes out. Being across from a major train station, I suppose that's bound to be the case. When we return to Paris we would likely stay again if we take the train.

Slightly confused upon arrival as did not twig that actual name of the Hotel is New Hotel.The entrance is unspectacular but once inside is clean and tidy and the rooms have clearly been recently updated and are satisfactory.Recommended for short stays

We stayed one night in the New Hotel Gare Du Nord between arriving on the Eurostar and travelling to our French destination. It is in a convenient location and the room was clean. Ideal for an overnight stay.

Good for the station and metro and events at the Stade de france. FRiendly and helpful team on hand .

This hotel is located directly opposite the Gare DU Nore train station and had restaurants all around. It was perfect for exploring Paris and the staff were excellent.

We went to this hotel to do the check in and them they send us to another, I guess is part of them but with another name and we were very disapointed with that one. Firts they show you on internert the one that look very nice, the one that we thought we will be spending our 3 nights in and them they send you to the other one that is terrible. The rooms were very small, the carpet was nasty and very stinky and with a lot of black spot. The bathroom was disgusting, with all the tiles black around them and they suppose to be white, but they have a lot of mold, it was terrible. For the price that they charge a least they sure have a clean carpert and a clean bathroom.

It was not our best experience for sure. The elevator was so tiny, only 1 person with luggage could enter, which meant one of us had to carry the overnight bags up 4 flights of narrow steps or wait, and when you exit the elevator it's right in the middle of the circular stairway on a fairly narrow step and very dangerous.The desk staff need a lesson in courtesy and tolerance.The beds are hard and uncomfortable, and the pillows were stained and needed to be replaced, or at the very least least have a pillow protector between the pillow and the pillow case. It was like going down into a dungeon for breakfast and when I saw a cockroach crawling along the frame on the stand where they kept the cups it was nauseating.The price online quoted $67 Euros and up, but we ended up paying at least 2 times that.I'm sorry to say other than the convenience to the Gard du North, and the fact that the rooms were relatively clean, there isn't much positive I can say .

I didn't particularly enjoy my stay here, but that was probably as much to do with being in Paris as anything else. The staff at this hotel were friendly enough and spoke good English. When you check in, they are keen to sign you up for their breakfasts for the whole of your stay in their stone cellar, at 7.50 euros extra per person. Don't commit straightaway to this, but try it out for one day first. There is plenty to eat, from ham & eggs, toast & jam, croissants, fruit juice, coffee etc, and there doesn't seem to be any restriction on what you can have. The lady who attends to the breakfasts is friendly and obliging, and is happy to get more coffee if it has run out, but as the breakfast is available from 6.00am to 10.00am, things do "sit around" and get a bit "sad" (especially the croissants), unless you go down early. There are loads of cafes & restaurants surrounding this hotel who do a nice Parisien breakfast for about 6.00 euros including fruit juice & coffee, or an English one for a bit more. You won't get as much for your money as you would in the hotel, but the coffee and the croissants will be fresher. However, if you want a second cup of coffee at one of the cafes, you would expect to pay the normal price of about 4.00 euros. It's very much "swings and roundabouts" but the main thing for me is that I found the hotel stone cellar a bit gloomy and oppressive, whereas it's more interesting sitting in the window of a cafe watching the world going by.The beds were comfortable (for me) but obviously that is a subjective thing, but make sure you get a room with air-conditioning because it can get a bit stuffy at night. Location-wise it is really convenient, just across the road from the Gare du Nord where Eurostar deposits you, but you do pay for that with the noise of traffic all night long. This is only a 2-star hotel, and as such it does exactly what it says on the tin. However, there is nothing except your bedroom, so you have to stay out all day really and just come back at bedtime. There was a flat-screen TV in the room but the only English channel I could find was BBC World News. What I was not prepared for was the lack of basic things like a kettle and drink making facilities in the room, so take a small electric kettle with you, and a travel-adaptor. There were adequate power-points, and the en-suite shower and toilet were clean, although lacking in shelves and hooks, etc. There were no hidden charges on checking-out.

This Hotel is a perfect choice if you want to save some money on your stay in Paris. It is located approximantely 50 meters from Guard de nord (from most of the rooms, e.g. 636, you get a nice view over this beautiful railway station). It takes app. 7 min with the RER train to the center (Les Halles). It is walking distance to the 18:e and 19:e that I think is the most beautiful districts. The room was app 16 m^2, it had a small bathroom (with bathtub) and a quite big wardrobe. It was equipped with ac and a flat LCD TV. We did not chose to eat the breakfast at the Hotel.

This hotel was great. I was only looking for somewhere cheap to stay. We didn't book for breakfast as we wanted to get out quickly every morning. The staff at reception were really helpful and spoke good English. They let us keep our bags in the hotel on the last day while we continued to sightsee. The room was nice enough, with TV, shower room, and a nice sized bed. It wasn't too noisy outside, and you can literally cross the road to the train station - fantastic location if you are sightseeing around Paris, and you just want a nice cheap Hotel!. Great restaurants all the way down the street too.

A perfectly satisfactory room with wifi but not really anything else at this hotel. No kettle/tea making faciities. New Hotel (which I booked) looked much the same as Richmond (where my room actually was). Couldn't be more convenient for Gare du Nord and Eurostar. Had I not been extremely busy I'd have tried to move somewhere a little further out (max 1 km) where rooms were cheaper and hotels had much better facilities. OK but unlikely to stay again - certainly not at this price.

very small basic hotel.deco a bit dated but toilets were remodelled.no facilties except for wifi. no cofee/tea facilties.location is excellent opposite gare du nord station., cconvenient for muslims as halal food easily available

When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that my booking had been cancelled!Fortunately, a room was available and I was quite happy with it.The hotel staff were very helpful and the location - across the road from the Gare du Nord - couldn't be better.
