Pros: Excellent isn't high enough praise. i'd not been to melbourne before, so didn't fully realize easystay was out of the central area. however, the tram stop was right outside the front door, the tram went every 20 minutes, and stops right in front of the southern cross rail station, so things couldn't be easier to get around. lots of restaurants and food sources within one block radius, all good. great beach two blocks away. no getting past the building has been around for a while, and is a little on the tired side, but everything was very very clean, the bed was comfortable, the water instantly hot, the staff was beyond helpful, pleasant and courteous. i can't think when i've had better service, even from the big name hotels. personally, i'd rather stay somewhere reasonable with good value rather than somewhere with a 'name' designed to impress. if i were to be in melbourne again, easystay is the first place i'd think of booking.

Pros: Great location and office staff very helpful
Cons: We booked the previous year stating and "requesting" for a back room over looking the car park as we were light sleepers.
alas! when we booked in! we were given a front room !#### overlooking the main street with the noise and traffic and "sorry no way to change" would have been nice to have the requested room. maybe next time !

Cons: Hot water - what is the purpose of providing only 15 minutes of hot water for a room that is designed to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children? nikki tells me that their are restrictions in place - but then ration the water appropriately according to the size of the room. three minutes of hot water is are hardly sufficient if one is trying to also wash and condition their hair.

no warning was given about the limited hot water - not by the staff or in the guestbook. the management of the hotel need to be ashamed - after all it having children moaning about the lack of hot water each day is not a pleasant experience for the parents who then have to calm them down.

Pros: I liked the part where we need passcodes to enter the building, and carpark space for guests (though limited)
Cons: Would appreciate lifts in the building, my friends had to carry their big bags up the staircase, and we're all female.
there was no hot water after the 1st bath. there were 4 of us in the room.
