Overall, it was good value for the money but....They upgraded us as we were early booking in. The breakfast was good except they need to learn how to cook scrambled egg and the evening meal was value for money. The big disappointment was the hotel advertised a fitness room and a spa and when I booked I said forget it if these facilities were not available. The booking was accepted and on arrival we discovered all these facilities were closed months ago so the booking was accepted with total disregard to my instructions.

Pros: Location is very good for those who come from airport, just take a train 15$ each to central station and take a half mile walk to the hotel.

Pros: Size of room/location of hotel/ease of checkout
Cons: Can hear doors slamming at various times throughout the night (possibly a sign asking guests to respect the privacy of other guests??)

Pros: We found the great southern to be an excellent choice because of the location - so close to central station, china town and other places such as paddy's markets. the facilities are excellent, very clean, quiet and comfortable. the staff are always helpful too. we have no reason to go elsewhere now when we stay in sydney.

Pros: Great location,clean comfortable room,extremely helpful,polite staff and well priced.our initial room was next to the elevator,which i complained about and the staff moved me immeadiatly to another room,which was great.will always stay at this hotel,when in sydney.
