"Good value for money"

I stayed in this hotel with my Mom for three nights. Excellent location, the structure of the building is a bit old, but the rooms are very clean and much larger than in newer hotels!I would recommend it to families and couples.

"3 days in Madrid in October 2012"

What I appreciated from Hostal Aguilar: the great location of this hostal, how clean the room was. Everyone at the front desk was always nice .How could hostal aguilaar improve: the look was not fresh, not new. Maybe a little painting on the walls, changing the pink bed covers for something newer than the sixties. This old look had a certain charm, but overall it looked a little sad. Samething with the shower curtain. Maybe it is time for a new one. We were in room 105. This was a 3 bed bedroom. My matress was a little too soft for me. Fortunately, there was a 4th matress under one of the bed (I suppose the room can convert into a 4 beds bedroom) so i swithched for this matress which was much more firm (less used) and we all slept very well. The room was huge, I expected much smaller and this was really really good.

"Excellent budget stay"

In terms of location, it would be hard to beat this hotel, we found everything within walking distance. We had a private room, it was very basic but we weren't spending much of our time in the hotel so it wasn't an issue. The hotel was clean, safe and provided us with everything we wanted really. There was a pub crawl and a free walking tour of the city advertised but we didn't have time to do them; if we had had longer we certainly would have however as it was excellent value. For the price, the hotel was exceptional and we would definitely stay there again.

"basic room, great location"

Room could use a paint job, better sheets and maybe a piece of art on the wall - but on the whole it was clean, the staff was nice and the location was great, which is the bottom line.

"Very clean and great location."

The hotel is very clean and the staffs are friendly. Especially loved the private bathroom which comes with nice bathtub. Also loved that it is in such great location near Sol, metro, the royal palace and many other attractions. However, there was a group of guests talking really loudly just outside our room in the middle of our first night, preventing us from having a good night sleep. This was eventually addressed when the hotel staff started to tell them off and we have a much better sleep in our second night.

The place is very good because is nearly of restaurant and shops.The service is great. The attendance was excelente.Our suggestion is to offer a continental breakfast.

Great and reasonably y priced hotel. Plenty of hot water, Wireless internet, clean and comfortable.The safe requires 1 euro every time you open it...Friendly staff.My only complain is the TV on the corridor that was kept on and loud until midnight.... other than that GREAT

Pros: El personal que nos recibió fue demasiado parco y escueto, pero el que tenía el turno de los siguientes días era amable. está ubicado en un muy buen lugar, aunque refieren que sol es la estación de metro más cercana, en realidad es la de callao, que está a una cuadra solamente.
Cons: La ducha estaba rota, el televisor demasiado pequeño y con muy mala recepción, no aisla el ruido de la calle, ni de las habitaciones al lado, se escuchaba todo constantemente, a pesar de lo cansados que estábamos, era muy difícil conciliar el sueño, y no había personal que pusiera orden.escuchábamos incluso las conversaciones de las habitaciones de al lado, y cuando iban al baño, horrible!

Cons: Es un monumento al ruido, tanto de la calle como de las habitaciones de al lado, de arriba y de todos lados, es complicadísimo descansar. el televisor es pequeñito, no se ve claramente desde la cama y su recepción es bastante pobre. los baños están viejos y descuidados.

Very good place

Hostal Aguilar Madrid enjoys an ideal location in the city centre of Madrid. This hostel in Madrid is very close to the Prado Museum and Puerta del Sol, the main square.
