"NH Center .... Amazing location.....bad service"

The location is amazing its actually 1 of the most amazing locations for a hotel in amsterdam you're close to everything coffee shops food shopping pharmacy exchange stores bars clubs the problem lies in the room (looks old) & the speed of service is really really bad.... the hotel needs renovation badly and the employees need training.... I was surprised to see that the hotel was ranked in the 4 star category.

"massively overpriced, worse than a travelodge"

I can not believe a long weekend in that hotel cost 1200e. The hotel was like a travelodge.The kettle did not work, the shower was pathetic, the pillows were small lumpy cushions, the cleaners annoyed us several times a day and the staff seemed a bit clueless.I would not stay there again.

"A few days in Amsterdam"

Good service, helpfull personnel, which is important especially when you are not in your own country. They booked the taxis and shuttles we needed, they supplied us with a scale to weigh our luggage. Friendly staff. Stayed on two occasions at this hotel. First room was a bite small, but the second time, wow! what a room. Extra comfortable.

"Great weekend"

This hotel is in a fantastic location, good selection of bars and restaurants just across the road. Bus and tram stops outside the door and canal cruise there too! All museums and attractions within walking distance. Staff more than helpful and very friendly.

Cons: Room is small for the price we paid, and the room is not so clean. can see dust clearly everywhere.

"Excellent location for museums, canal boats and dining/shopping"

Pros: Excellent location for museums, canal boats and dining/shopping. public transportation very easy with tram and bus lines right in front of the hotel. surprisingly quiet at night. great breakfast buffet. didn't eat at the sogna which is the italian restaurant in the hotel but did order food at the bar and it was wonderful. not "pub grub" but gourmet food. very friendly staff and helpful with booking our tour to the kuekenhof gardens and getting our shuttle back to the airport. we found it most convenient and not that expensive to order a round trip airport shuttle on the conexxion line and not attempt multiple forms of transportation which gets you to the train station and then tram or bus from there to the hotel. all and all, we were very pleased with our stay at this hotel and would stay here again
Cons: This might seem minor but we found the chairs in the lobby/bar eating area uncomfortable and the chairs in the room also a bit stiff. we did lots of walking and comfortable seating is important after a long day of sightseeing. besides this - one other thing - on a few occasions my husband needed change for paper euros so he could use the cigarette machine in the lobby but the main desk and the bar did not have the change. this was a bit frustrating for him.

Pros: I found the hotel room to very clean and it was nice that i was able to smoke in the hotel room. i requested that i had a quiet room as i heard previous guest complaine about the noise, and they gave us a room on the 3rd floor to the side of the hotel.it was a greta location and very easy to find.
Cons: I think the internet cost is overpriced, the free wifi did not wok for us and the cost of the room was overpriced. a memeber of staff i found to be quite unhelpful and did not seem to know what was going on when asked questions.the outside does look abit decieving as i thought it looked like a block of flat, but as soon as i walked in things changed.

Cons: Staff members were not helpful on checkout. i waited close to 30 minutes for taxi to arrive "which front desk had supposedly called" and was supposed to arrive in 5-10 mins. hotel prices are exorbitant, the rooms were small and definitely not value for money.i was not impressed by the additional charges e.g "city taxes" added on to the bill which i was not informed about previously. for the money paid, i got nothing but a bedroom since breakfast was an additional charge, wi-fi additional charge, in fact i left wondering what i had actually paid for?!!!!

Pros: Staff were pleasant, the hotel rooms were well equiped and clean on arrival. really nice atmosphere and would definitely stay there again. hotel room had a lovely view.
Cons: A little bit expensive with breakfast at €19! out room was a bit small however the friends i stayed with had a good room size.

excellent location near amsterdam historic center.
Cons: Not enough staff - had to wait each time we stopped by the desk with a question. usually only one person on duty.
no concierge; no bellhop staff.
no place to unload your car when checking in or out. we had to block a lane in the street to unload.
rooms were air conditioned, but it was not sufficient. we complained every day about the air, and once a staff person visited the room, but nothing was done.
