"Nice place"

The most interesting thing about this hotel is the location.We had a nice room, clean and sunny. It's good value for money.I recommend this hotel for young people that are visiting Amsterdam to have fun and that are not looking for sleep quality.

"NOT PRETENCIOUS AND NOT QUIET"

The hotel is very good for its location, very close to the dam square of Amsterdam. The staff moreover was very kind and polite. I stayed in one single room , which was very clean , but the toilet (one over each floor) was a nightmare. It was so dirty that I decided to go to the toilet of the bar situated downstairs. For this reason I didn't even try to see how was the shower (I stayed in the hotel just for one night so I could stand without it). Anyway the hotel, I would say ,is more for young party people or people who can stand easily noise because is not so silent and there's the bar just downstairs.

"Nice"

It's not a 5 star hotel, and does not claim to be. So don't book the 'Corner House' expecting fancy facilities / service. What you do get is a place to stay right in the centre of Amsterdam for what I think is quite a reasonable price. Staff were friendly. Would stay here again. Pros: Location, friendly staff, price.Cons: One thing that should have been brought to our attention whilst booking or at least checking in to our room, was that the hot water is on a timer...No hot water before 8.30am. Not a problem for most lazy holiday heads...but if you need to get up early and shower (as we did) you get a rather cold surprise. That is all ;)

"Dam Stag"

Picked the Cornerhouse for its great location and good value. On arrival i was pleased to find it had a very good bar and restaurant too. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would reccomend this hotel to all. Groups, couples .

"Freezing in Amsterdam"

We did the mini cruise on the ferry from Hull and needed one night in a hotel, unfortunately we opted for this one. It seemed a good deal and the staff appeared friendly when allowing us to leave our luggage before the official check-in time but, as soon as we gained access to the room, all illusions were shattered. It was bitterly cold in Amsterdam and there was no heating in the room at all. Despite complaining about this three times the problem was never rectified. There was no double glazing so we could clearly hear all the noise in the street outside as well as the on-going tramline works. The room itself was shabbily decorated and looked old (not in a good way) a sort of dingy grey/blue paint on ancient woodchip paper. The sink was in the bedroom not the en-suite and the shower was unusable and looked in dire need of a good scrub though a re-tile would have been easier. The stairs were covered with thin lino so everytime anyone else came into the hotel it sounded like a heard of elephants were coming up the stairs in hi-heels. We survived one night but I certainly wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone. The only positive I can think of is that it was in a decent location, about 10 minutes walk from the station.

"Simple but nice place for short stay and very friendly staff"

Budget hotel but good location and extremly friendly staff (Marek was outstanding).few steps from dam square and large supermarket.nice bar downstairs, included breakfast-this is what you need for short stay-i would definietly recommend this place

"Our stay NYE 2012-13"

6 of us stayed in 3 rooms, all 3 rooms were great and after reading some other reviews we weren't expecting alot, our rooms were at the top of the hotel and had recently been updated, lovely walk in wet room/bathroom and very comfortable beds, however as we made our way to the rooms we did see some of the others with shared facilities and they were less than appealing in appearance,bar staff were very friendly and although we didn't eat at the restaurant the meals did look good, Would recommend to anyone visiting on a budget although DO MAKE SURE you book a room with private facilities , we had rooms 19,20 and 21, with 21 having a bit more room and a much better view of the street below, would and probably will use this hotel again.

"Would not stay here again"

The location of the hotel is great except from at night when you are trying to sleep! It is very noisy and as the building is old it does not keep the noise out!The rooms are dated and not very clean.

"Excellent service in poor hotel"

Stayed for three nights. First night in a single room right above the bar. Noise was terrible! Also the window didn't close (a 5cm open crack!) which caused me a flu afterwards. Complained about the room the next day and the staff was kind enough to move me three floors up to a double room which was much nicer. The beds were great! Food not so much, had just one breakfast. The bathroom and toilet qualities varied a lot from floor to floor. Wouldn't wash myself bare foot, so I'm glad I was prepared with slippers.Location very very central, which also caused the noise problem. If you're a heavy sleeper and do not care about the bathroom cleanliness, this is your place. For me, a total waste of money and time (although I can still praise the staff friendliness, they were great!)

"Go there"

The highlight of our trip through Holland was the great friends we made among the stafff at the Cornerhouse . Nothing was too much trouble to them and we were treated like family all the while we were there The staff, especially Marek, Amy and Bolinda were great. Although the hotel was old and under renovation at the time we enjoyed it imensely .

fantastic location and great value for money,i found the staff to be helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble,though the rooms were basic,the beds were very comfortable and the egyptian cotton sheets were a real plus point..On arrival i had been allocated a tiny single room,i complained and Marek the manager let me have an ensuite twin for the whole of my three night stay and gave me a 2pm check out,which i thought was a terrific gesture.i will be staying again,for sure.

"Great"

The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of everything. The employees are great and bend over backwards to help you out. We came with our 2 yo daughter and were given a room upgrade so we were more comfortable.mgreat place would def recommend this to everybody and will be staying there again on our return trip

"Good basic accomodation"

Great location, easy walk to the station and round the corner from the bustling Dam Sq. Facilities very basic, (shared toilet and shower not brilliant but were clean and done the trick). Beds very comfortable, a bit of road noise from the trams but nothing that kept me awake. Great food in downstairs bar, although a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for! All in all a good place to stay if just having a flying visit.

Pro's - Great location (just round the corner from Dam Square), friendly staff, price, revamped rooms are lovelyCon's - rooms awaiting repairs and a severe lack of towels (half the guest's didn't get one), hence the 2 stars for service.

"Can't get much better"

Great staff, great location, really cool place with wonderful people. My only complaint was the bed could have been better, but for a short stay couldn't get much better. They were scraping and repainting the windows, but didn't start working too early. Had a great time.

Se procura um alojamento com uma classificação de 1 estrelas, o Hotel Corner House satisfaz todas as suas necessidades. Ao ficar aqui vai acabar por concordar com o velho ditado: as melhores coisas chegam às nossas mãos em pacotes pequenos. Ficando aqui alojado, fica num local bastante conveniente próximo da Estação Central de Amesterdão. Visitar museus como o Madame Tussaud Wax Museum, ou até o Historisch Museum, é algo que fará sem problemas se ficar neste alojamento. A A Igreja Nova fica bem perto de si se ficar instalado neste local. Se está aqui por razões de negócios, deve apreciar ficar próximo de Felix Meritis.
