 "The Craven Hotel"
My boyfriend and I spent 4 nights at the Craven Hotel. Placed in a quiet street yet next to 2 underground stations, it was easy to reach from Lancaster Gate, next to Paddington and 2 minutes walk from Hyde Park. Way to Paddington is full of restaurants, change bureaus and small shops. There's even a very nice pub.It's clear that the rooms have been recently renewed, the furniture is nice and the room has been cleaned every day. Small room is not a surprise in London, even smaller bathroom neither is, but we stayed in the hotel just for sleeping, so that was not a big issue even though I could open the bathroom door with my back when bending down to wash my face. What we actually didn't like about the room was its temperature, way hotter than the outside!Staff is really gentle and professional, we liked the fact that they personally take care of your luggage if you need to leave it there after checking out.Breakfast is ok: tea, coffee, milk, cereals, toasts, butter, jam and boiled eggs. No bacon or sausages, so if you wish to have an English breakfast you'd better go out.

Pros: Centrally located.
Cons: The room was small and pokey, with drab curtains and the bedspread wasn't thick enough considering that it was the middle of winter, we were a bit cold. the bathroom although clean was tiny and if i'd been a large person it would of been a tight squeeze to show myself.

Pros: The staff are very friendly & helpful, the hotel clean & very basic. it represents good value for money if you are looking for a cheap bed for the night in london.
Cons: The walls are pretty thin, therefore if you have inconsiderate neighbours you can hear doors banging & people clattering about at night

Cons: We had 2 rooms, which were cleanish until we noticed a very musty smell in the kids room (mould on bathroom ceiling), and electric sockets hanging off, which were sparking all night long. our room had blood on the mattress, bed broke twice and no-one cared. manager would not talk or call us when we asked to speak to him. p.s. couldnt have tea / coffee, no way of filling up the kettle from the very small basin and water continually ran out after a few mins...

Cons: Information about the room on the internet are false. room was very small. no storage space for clothes. didnt shine a light in the bathroom above the mirror. in the shower could not set the hot water. room facilities were very ugly.

Pros: The staff is very helpful and nice. rooms are clean.
Cons: Although i checked in the web that the hotel has air-conditioning, but after i arrived at the hotel, the staff told me air-conditioning was available upon request by directly contact the hotel. also the room was too small and found there was blockage in the drainage of the bath room. besides no lift available, therefore it was very difficult to deliver the big luggage to your room via the staircase. wifi was available but sometime broken or failed to connect in the room, the signal only strong at the reception. besides, upon arrival the staff told me that storage luggage was ok, but last day in our stay, the staff said we have to pay 5 pounds per items, finally we had paid 20 pounds for luggages storage!!

Cons: No lifts, shower leaked... floor flooded with every use, orange extention cords showing thru sheet rock--- appears to be a cheaply renovated hotel.

Great value and location and for the price the breakfast was good too
