 "Clean, comfortable with lots of character"
Simple, but clean hotel room, with air conditioning that worked. Views were onto an alley, but this is the case with many hotel rooms in venice that do not have a canal view. Beautiful breakfast room, with good food. Hotel staff polite and helpful. Reception open 24 hours, so no problem if you want to experience venice after dark! Room had wall covering made from silk, and had antique looking furniture. Hotel had real charm and character. En suite bathroom was small but perfectly clean. Room was in a quiet location and I slept like a log (unusual for me when I'm away from home). Located in the heart of San Marco, just 5 mins walk from the Piazza San Marco and about 3 mins walk from the Rialto Bridge. I would definitely choose to stay here again, and probably will when I return to Venice next year (for pleasure rather than business).

Pros: Nice location, but anywhere on the island is convenient in the whole scheme of things.
Cons: We literally slept in a closet. the room did not have more than 2 feet on either side of the bed and that was the entire room. do not fall victim of staying in the room with a detached bathroom. it is literally a converted closet. next to construction.

Pros: It is very close to everything. breakfast was very good.
Cons: It was very hard to find, no kettle or coffee maker in room, which i should have asked about and would not have stayed there had i known.

Pros: I booked a single room for 4 nights and was pleasently suprised when i arrived a 5am that i got an beautiful double room, with 15ft high ceiling, king size bed, mini bar, air con and amazingly decorated room done in venician style. staff went out of there way to help booking tours, giving me time of water taxi's to the airport etc. good breakfast and i actually thought the coffee was alright.
Cons: Down a little alley of one of the squares, make sure you have a good map to find the place, not really a negative, location is perfect, i will definitly stay here again.

Cons: While the bathroom was clean and seemed recently updated, the room itself was quite outdated and seemed a bit dingy; while pay-internet is common (it seems) in many budget hotels and in venice in general, it still seems odd to me that free internet is not a basic amenity...

Pros: Very clean and meet 3 stars standard. good breakfast and good neighbourhood. close to all the attractions.
Cons: Difficult to find the hotel if you are not good at directions. you cannot see hotel signbord at public area. and need more time to find the place.
