 "Italy tour"
Great location, 5 mins from Santa Lucia train station. Can be a bit tricky to find as the street it is on is really an alley way so you could easily walk past it, but if you take the first left after the church ( even though it doesn't seem likely} it's about 50 yards down when the alley opens out. Hotel is typical Venice, expensive for what you get but no more expensive than the other hotels, infact maybe a touch cheaper. Our room was basic, but bed very comfortable. The shower was a bit lukewarm and the TV was such poor quality we didn't turn it on after first viewing. We were at the front of the hotel and it turns out the alley is a cut through from the boat to ( I think ) a college so it gets very noisy from about 6.30 am as people go past. As soon as you step outside of the room you can't hear anything. Maybe best to get room at the back. The breakfast room is bright and cheery but a bit cramped. This could be down to the fact there is a nice garden to sit in but obviously dependent on the weather, The food selection available wasn't great, but what was there was always very fresh and replaced all of the time, no stale or reheated croissants all very fresh . I would recommend the breakfast for its quality rather than selection.

 "Uncomfortable Bed in Stella Alpina Edelweiss Hotel"
I ended a cruise in Venice and from my home in Vancouver booked your Hotel. The staff and front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly. I would rate them highly, andthe location is an easy one on the Island of Venice, however, the bed was terrible andwhen you are in the business of sleep, the bed and room are hugely important. I leftone night early as I had a non-refundable reservation and I could feel the bed springs onmy back and the tv was slightly larger than an I-pod and there were no English stations. I think when you have international clientelle, it is important. The room was sullen and I did not want to spend the second night in the hotel. Thank you, I hope this helps you with your future business, at this time I could not recommend your hotel for any reason other than the location. Sincerely, Gail McClay

Pros: I had a very comfortable stay at the stella alpina. i had one of the 2 star rooms and with basic facilities and i was happy. for the budget traveller it is perfect just around the corner from the main train station in venice so you don't have to search far to find it. also the budget room with shared facilities is fine for singles friends or couples it has all you need with a great location.
