 "Old Pomp"
The hotel has got a special historic flair. This quality has the consequence that some details are a bit old fashioned and result in a certain lack of usability. It's a nice experience staying here but some rooms are very small, whereas others offer much space. Wooden ceilings and the old windows make you listen the steps of guests leaving anda lot ofthe traffic.Looking for modernity?

 "ehhh..."
its a great place to stay if you like antique things and an eclectic feel! however me and my girlfriend didn't find it romantic at all... honestly i remember her saying "it's cool but... it's kinda creeping me out." and the two real problems i had was the old school air condition that really didn't cool the room so we had to open a window... needless to mention it was pouring rain outside. the other real problem i had was that the only accessible power outlets were in the bathroom... so i had to leave my phone charging in the bathroom hoping that it wouldn't get knocked down into the toilet. oh and one more thing the bed wasn't comfy at all! for 100+ i would expect something more than they have to offer. we stayed 1 out of 4 night of our trip and stayed across the bay in Emeryville, even though we had to cross the bridge and pay a toll going into san fran. it was worth it and we saved quite a few bucks doing so.

 "What a find!"
I stayed here on accident when I didn't get into the host hotel for a conference I was attending. As it turned out, I ended up paying $40 less per night than my collegues, had far better service, and an excellent room (with only a 3 block walk each day). The only things I would say that I would put in the thumbs down part of my stay were the fact that there were no shades on window of my corner room, putting questions to my privacy. Also, the tub/shower combo was rather small with a hanging shower curtain that kept sticking to me while I tried to shower. With a Sat arrival and Wed morning checkout, I wasn't able to take much advantage of the onsite restaurant that was closed on Sun-Mon, so I can't speak to it. Otherwise, my stay was delightful.
