WestCord City Centre Hotel Amsterdam    

Rooms were a bit pokey, but that's just the way it is with hotels like this in Amsterdam. Saying that though, rooms were clean, and the staff were attentive and always ready to help with any request...Value for money in close proximity to the shops and sight's.

The hotel was very nice and I enjoyed my stay. However when we first got there the receptionist was quite rude. She then gave us a room with two twin beds instead of one double so we had to come all the way back down stairs where we were told we had to wait another 2-3 hours for a room to be available. We then requested for a late check out but the rude woman told us we would have to ask tomorrow. So we did they said yes, then at the normal 12 o'clock check out time we had a phone call asking us when we were coming down as we needed to check out half an hour ago. We told them we had arranged the late check out time already. They apologized. We then got another phone call to the room about an hour later where I had to tell them the same thing.

Excellent Hotel close to Central Station and all main attractions. Rooms spacious and spotlessly clean. Only complaint was 2 single beds rather than a double bed and TV in room not working at first. This fault was rectified once notified to reception.

Have stayed at various hotels in Amsterdam before, but WestCord City Centre is by far the best hotel I've stayed in in Amsterdam and I will use this hotel the next time I visit. Small but modern, nicely decorated and spotless clean rooms. Waterboiler with tea and coffee selection avalible in the room. Flatscreen TV with mainly Dutch channels, however when in Amsterdam you don't want to stay in your room watching television.. The hotel is located litteraly within a 3 minute walk from Amsterdam central station and only an ally away from Damrak and two allys away from the red Light District. At the same time the location is in a quieter area, so you'll have no problems sleeping at night. The staff is very courtios, efficient and welcoming. Had asked for a brick walled bathroom instead of the plexiglass in advance and upon arrival the staff had already booked such a room for us. We booked a pre-paid stay and for 98 Euros this was a bargain. I have already recommended this hotel to some of my friends and will stay here again myself in the future. Westcord was central to train station Dam square, all you could wish for was so close by. The staff were friendly approachable and happy to help, please just make sure you take an extra 100 euros for deposit which you do get 86 back on departure. (14 euro tax), which was no good to us coming home! The rooms are beautiful and cleaned daily, I found the rooms trendy and so comfortable , with a great view of Amsterdam.

Location is great, in walking distance of central station and Dam Square. Doube room had 2 single beds pushed together which were very uncomfortable! Room was also quite claustraphobic for a 3 night stay. Our room looked onto some red lit windows but suprisingly didnt get any noise from the street at night. The toilet has a frosted glass door which doesn't reach the ceiling, so anything done in there can be seen and heard by anyone in the room so make sure you are comfortable with the person you are staying with! Staff at reception were helpful. Thought breakfast was too expensive for what it was, much cheaper and better breakfasts are available within a few minutes walking distance. Cheap & cheerful hotel, great for couples and tourists who won't be spending too much time in their room!

Nice Hotel with a great location near nice Steak Houses.The staff are friendly and helpful.The WIFI was good . A mini bar in the room would have been a good additioni was visit again definitely if was in Amsterdam again

I stayed five nights at this hotel i was upgraded from a single to a double room which was greatly appreciated. All the staff i came into contact with regarding any information i reguired i found to be very pleasant and helpful.Breakfast was plentiful you could eat away to your hearts content but the down side was the fact that regarding the English breakfast it never varied for for the time i was there scrambled egg every morning ugh!, also the Hotel did not have a lounge bar if you wanted a drink you had to go out for one. But would stay here again

Nice rooms plenty of space, great location and got a great night sleep. Didn't have the breakfast so can't comment but looked and smelt great! Trams right outside so getting about couldn't be easier.

We stayed in a corner room and the wi-fi reception is very poor, the Internet only works when you stand up close to the toilet. We complained to reception and they said that because of the position of the room in the corner there is a reception issue. They offered us to change rooms the next day but as we were only staying for 3 nights we declined, the staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The manager, we presume, was very friendly and always greeting us during breakfast.Positives:staff at receptionLocation, very near the train station and in front of a tram stopNegatives:staff at breakfast, not friendlyroom noise was terrible, street noise troubled us to sleep (4th floor)

The hotel is in a good location, easy walking distance to central train station. The rooms are small [hard to fit 2 suitcases and have walking space. Foot of the bed was literally on the wall where the TV was hanging above the bed. The bathroom is completely glass - door doesn't really close so not very private - at all - There is some mid frosting on the glass but still not for the faint of heart. A nice place but nothing special. Breakfast is optional between certain hours at a cost of 12 euros or more. Not worth it - go across the street to the crepe place - you pay less and have more unique food.

Very happy with accommodation. Great location in walking distance of everything and just great value for money. Would definitely book again. Made our stay in Amsterdam all the better.

A great hotel , 5 mins walk from station,Dam Square and all other lively bars and shops. I would stay here on my next visit to Amsterdam.

Great hotel right in the middle of Amsterdam City Centre just of the main drag. Pleasant staff, clean and spacious room and there was a cleaning service in the room for every day of our stay (only there for 4 days!) There was no mini bar/ fridge in the room - not that i would be using mini bar but would of like to keep my water cool (not the end of the world though). Did not seem to be a bar area in the hotel - maybe I missed this as we were having so much fun and there were plenty of bars on our doorstep. There was a breakfast area but we opted out of brekkie as there are many wonderful eateries around. If you go out the back door of the hotel, turn left and keep walking there are some fabulous restaurants/ bistros -as the main areas can get a bit repetitive and expensive. Another area for great atmosphere is leidseplein square which has an array of shops, eateries and bars to chill out in. On the bus tour you pass a wonderful windmill which has a bar below and lovely to chill out at. If you can, hire a bike for a few hours to experience real-life in Amsterdam. Its extremely safe and no-one wears helmets as your more likely to be run over by another biker not a car! I would definitely go back to this hotel and recommend it to others! What a wonderful city!

Hotel was very clean, beds and rooms were decorated nice. Receptionists are very rude and snobby. Good hotel with good location.

Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. The free wireless internet cut in and out a little bit, but overall worked pretty good. The bathrooms do have pretty transparent glass walls (they have a blurred strip half was up), so that may have some influence depending on who you're rooming with. Despite signs saying it's illegal to smoke in rooms and there would be a 100 euro fine for cleaning if you did, you could definitely smell people smoking in them anyway. There's a 12.50 deal for breakfast if you buy it at check-in. We bought the hotel breakfast, thinking it would be easiest first thing in the morning. I would not recommend the breakfast. There are plenty of places near by with better and cheaper meals for breakfast. Overall the stay was very good even though we didn't spend much time in the rooms. It was comfy and clean and I'd definitely stay again.

We had an excelleent stay at the Westcord, everything about it Location, staff, breakfast not one thing could we fault it for and we will definatly go back to it again. Every thing was within walking distance......... Magic cant wait to go back :) x

Location was good, close to Central Station. Hotel rooms were OK, unfortunately the lights in the bathroom did not work, the PAY TV even confirmation did not work and was immediately informed to the Reception and was told this would be charged. At the time of check out explained again PAY Tv did not work.

Pros: It's my preferred hotel whenever i am in amsterdam, and i would not want to stay anywhere else.
Cons: None.
