 "Bed bugs and terrible concierge"
What could have been a perfectly adequate stay in a well-equipped hotel in a great location ended in disappointment, with my partner now suffering from well over 15 bed bug bites. A good room (if dark) on the fourth floor provided more than serviceable lodgings for our four night stay, however I've never seen quite as many bed bug bites as those on her now we are back home.In addition, after asking the male concierge on a Sunday morning and him claiming to have called a bar to ensure it was open, we then called the bar ourselves to check - no one picked up. After going to the bar itself, we then found the bar closed and nobody there to actually answer the telephone, meaning he flat out lied to us on telling us the bar was open.Poor, poor, poor. Avoid.

Pros: The location was excellent
Cons: We asked for more money than it was written in our booking confirmation. it took three days to confirm the "boy" in the desk that we were right and the price 1.750,00 usd + city tax.

 "Superb location"
Pros: Superb location. rooftop bar was good, especially the view of the empire state building at night. rooms were fairly spacious. overall, the hotel is clean and well-maintained. some of the staff were friendly and helpful. the free breakfast is a nice touch.
Cons: Empty bottles and used glasses were not removed from our room until we asked. some reception staff were surly and clearly couldn't have cared less. plastic cutlery and paper plates at breakfast seemed cheap.
