The Dylan Hotel New York is an interesting and unique hotel experience for anyone traveling to New York and looking for a place to stay. The dim corridors and 107 spacious guest rooms (standard, executive and deluxe) balance a clean, stark design with a few warm touches; think upscale European hostel-chic. Blank pale walls, modern furnishings and marble bathrooms (eight with bathtub or whirlpool) are offset by sapphire taffeta curtains, ultra-suede accents and 11-foot-high ceilings.

The two-bedroom penthouse with landscaped terrace is all-white, L.A.-meets-Greek island, while the unique Alchemy Suite is a gothic chamber built in 1932 that features vaulted ceilings and stained-glass windows. Two-line phones, data ports, high-speed Internet, high-end toiletries, Frette sheets, CD players and library, complimentary newspaper and in-house entertainment system in all rooms; most rooms are nonsmoking.
