The Plaza Hotel Dublin  

i have stayed at the plaza twice i we loved the rooms nice and spacious the beds are very comfortable flat screen TV .room was so warm and cosy. staff are very helpful i was checked in, in under 3 minutes im honest . bar staff very nice and chatty we didn't eat food as i have food intollerences . our 1st stay my only complaint was the cleaners were going around at 8 in the morning which was a real pain was fine this time so book and enjoy especially for the price this is what keeps me also coming back p s its right next door the the square shopping center and theirs is local pub think its called the cookoos nest its 8 euro from hotel .

Pros: Staff were very welcoming and helpful. despite our early arrival our rooms were ready which was a major plus for our family.
Cons: Slightly disappointed in the rooms themselves, felt decor was outdated and not at all 4 star quality. also my sons sleep was badly disrupted by the loud music from the bar/nightclub.

Pros: The staff were very friendly
Cons: Did not accept amex cards. almost caused a problem

Cons: Unfortunately lots. we were given a room on 3rd floor and all of the time the lift was out of order and it was actually 9 flights of stairs to climb. the restraunt/cafe were closed in the evening - if you wanted to eat you had to go down to the bar and have a pub meal. the breakfast was not good - there was no alternatives to full fat milk and butter - i need reduced fat items which are generally available as standard at most hotels - especially 4* ones. both days there was 'no marmalade' - surely a standard item just two different types of jam - no honey choc spread or whatever and only about 4 choices of cereal - 1 type of juice. (at home i accommodate students and have lots more choices) the laminate or whatever material was cracked and had a chunk out of our bathrooms toilet seat. the top was missing from our flip top bin in the bathroom and there was also a chunk missing from one of the toilet doors on the general toilets on the 1st floor. so for your next question i would not recommend this hotel to anyone! we were very disappointed

Pros: The staff were very warm and friendly. they couldn't help us enough and made our stay the best time we have been to dublin so far. the location was perfect for visiting relatives by public transport as there are both busses and the luas only yards away.
Cons: The only down side was the lift was out of order. they tried their best for us and moved my father to a lower floor room, which was great. the rest of us didnt mind the stairs as it gave us a bit of exercise and helped burn off some of the calories from the guiness..

Pros: The hotel staff were great, warm, helpful and polite. the hotel was perfect and we all had a great stay.
Cons: The only thing was the lift being out of order, but this did not make our stay any different.

Cons: The elevator on the hotel was out of order the most of the time we whare there.four floors to goo.

Pros: The staff were outstanding and very obliging
Cons: Yes it states that its near the luas and not 10 to 15mins walk ,not safe at night so we had to get a taxi which added to the cost

Pros: It was actually good. nice atmosphere and nice surroundings. positive staff at the reception. close to the big shopping centre. you can experience there a real european atmosphere.
Cons: The only minus is the location. too far from centre.

Cons: Poor breakfast

Pros: Staff were brilliant, helpful, friendly and professional
Cons: Hotel has gone down hill considerably, had problems with noise from other guests, damp and mould in the room, peeling wallpaper, lift out of order and restaurant closed which for a hotel 40 minutes from the centre of dublin makes life difficult the only other eateries in the area are fast food outlets and takeaways. taxi fare was extortionate, it would be useful if we had been advised to take the airbus from the airport for 6 euro (each) and the tram for 4 euros (each) as the taxi cost 45 euro.

Pros: Friendly staff, impressive decor, large room.

Pros: Nice clean rooms and at a good price.
