Pros: The rooms are worn but large and serviceable. the desk staff were very helpful with museum reservations in advance and also information and directions around firenze. the location works really well for florence- close enough to the city center while being out of the area of the main tourist problems of crowds and hucksters.
Cons: Some more basic attention to minor repairs would be in order.

Pros: The single room had a huge balcony that was the size of a courtyard which was a nice change from other single rooms i had in europe. the hotel is very close to most places of interest and the ponte de vecchio can be seen from the front door. i really enjoyed staying at the ritz. the breakfast was also quite good.
