"The front desk staff was very helpful"

Pros: The front desk staff was very helpful. they booked the restaurant for us. also, when we asked about the event at a club, the staff looked up the event information right away. also, there were a direct public bus from the schipole airport, which stop right in front of the hotel. that information was not on the web site though. the hotel's restaurant was very nice, too. definately wanna go back this hotel and strongly recommended.

"New year break"

The room we stayed in (143) was very dark even with the lights on. The bed was really comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff at reception were helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a great location with everything you need nearby and tourist attractions within walking distance. We didn't use any of the facilities in the hotel even though there is a small gym and sauna so next time I'd maybe get a cheaper hotel in the same area. I would recommend Amsterdam as we had a great time but wear comfy shoes as you will walk everywhere.I feel that as it was new year that the hotel could have had more information regarding where to go and what to do on New Year's Eve but my friend and I couldn't see any.

"what a view! what a silence!"

Our room was just next to the lift, so not the quietest room I ever had in Amsterdam.Nice view to the other building and its rooms...so lovely to spend some time with your futur wifeI also expected much more clean rooms in details, lot of things to fix in the room and bathroom.no pressure on shower...I used to go to park hotel, I wanted to try something else to please my wife, maybe I was wrong.

"Great hotel for an Amsterdam city break"

Very nice looking hotel externally in a great central location, with very helpful and friendly staff. Beds very comfortable and everything clean. Decor is starting to date a bit in places with signs of wear on some units and wall paper etc but for us this did not detract from the overall experience. Did not eat at the hotel as it is within easy reach of so many other food establishments. Only gripe would be that Euro 20 each for breakfast is quite high in my opinion resulting in us having breakfast elsewhere. Recommended to us by a friend and altogether I would definately recommend to a friend also.

"Once grand but now decidedly run-down - not really suitable for business"

This hotel is old, slightly run down, and somewhat overpriced for what it delivers. I paid somewhere around 140 Euro per night plus tax to stay here, and found that my perception of value was far below that level; suggesting 100 Euro or so would be a fairer reflection of what is delivered. While the staff are generally excellent, the rooms are somewhat basic, the beds only passible, the Internet horribly slow, and the breakfast nothing to write home about, especially consider it is a 20 Euro per night extra. Perhaps most disappointingly the front side of the hotel looks out onto a busy square, and noise is quite high until around 4am every morning, while the windows provide no protection. Broken items in the hotel also stick in my mind, with my non-functional air-conditioning being one, and the fact that the lift call button had broken on my floor on day of check-out being another. I wish I could recommend this hotel, but it just does not add up to a positive experience.

"The place to stay"

The hotel a was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dinner mine was rather limited but OK for 1 night and the breakfasts were excellent The Hotel is close to the museums and easy to find My Husband had a broken leg but managed well Highly recommended

Pros: The staff could not have been more helpful-excellent.
Cons: The shower was very poor it fell to one side resulting in it soaking the floor. not enough pillows should have been 2 per person. body cream not replaced.

Pros: Very friendly staff, good access to city both by tram and walk to dam square area. hotel very picturesque.
Cons: We were given a hotel special rate of $15 pp for breakfast but even at this felt this was very expensive for a buffet.

Pros: Hotel was great location for the night life very clean, staff was really helpful and very friendly, the bed's are so comfortable.
Cons: Beawear of the 500 euro deposit they like to charge you for the room on top of what it cost to stay there, the staff was cool and let us off, also the rooms are not very good for ladys who need to get ready to go out, ended up doing my hair in the hall way with very little lighting, would i stay there again no unless i win the lotto
