Pros: It is located in a quiet residential area with a good access to centraal or rai station.
Cons: My room was pretty small & quite dark with one small window on the ceiling.

The Hotel Flipper was as exspected from a budget hotel not the best facilitys or rooms but had very helpfull and friendly staff along with considarate guests enjoyed my stay and really enjoyed amsterdam. If you dont mind a fair walk to town, using the tram system or hireing bikes for the week i would definately recomend.Jake Bristol UK

Well be careful to read the small print of this hotel, on arrival they charged us an extra 5% as tourist tax, which wasn't very clear when booking! Also we were told we would have a double bed and two singles but got given 4 singles, two of which were just pushed together, which we actually preferred as friends staying, but if you're a couple it's wouldn't be ideal!They also tried to charge us for breakfast even though we had already specifically said we didn't want breakfast! (As we probably wouldn't be awake before 11am!) The weekend we got a lovely sleep, but on Monday morning we were woken by the building site next door at 8am, which actually the night before a few loud explosions had happened! Which we were not best pleased about but I guess it woke us up early so we could actually do touristy things during the day. This is temporary though so as long as your stay isn't within the next couple of months I'm sure it'll be fine as the hotel itself was pretty sound proof to other guests!The beds were nicer than expecting, but a very small width. The room is cosy (kinda cramped). The bathroom was very clean and had a good shower. A kettle, tea and coffee was also provided. It is really close to the tram line, less than 5 min walk, the trams are really regular and then it goes straight into town, really simple to navigate! However we could never find the night bus back from the city centre to our bus stop. If we had spent more time investigating during the day we might have though. A taxi from just off Dam Square will cost roughly 15euro so not that bad! Great for a cheap stay!p.s. Really nice takeaway at the top of the street near the tram, Indian man speaks little English but really friendly and makes amazing pizza that are reasonably priced! - the menu has curries etc too but we didn't try them.

Hotel was very clean perfect for a long weekend, staff very friendly, would stay again and would recomend to friends cheap and cheerful!!

I stayed for two nights and it was much better than I expected. Convenient to Tram No 4 for centre of Amsterdam and within walking distance of Eurolines Bus Station. Good breakfast buffee and overall I thought the hotel was good value

Pros: Variety of food during breakfast was perfect. staffs was really helpful! i was impressed that even though this was a 1 star hotel, they never missed to refresh our room.. :)

Pros: Friendly staff, basic hotel only few tram stops to center.
Cons: Room facilities poor: broken alarm clock, no hooks and barely any storage, radiator thermostat stuck out into the bed so you caught your back on it. bed bugs - both got bitten! shared shower had toilet in same room so often waiting for people to have long shower before you can use toilet.

Pros: Just about enough for us. you get what you pay for : it's like in a hostel, but better, since you can avoid sleeping with 6 people in the same room. the staff is really nice and helpful. the breakfast is good too.
Cons: Hotel flipper is a bit far from the city centre, although if you take the tram, you'll be there in 10 min. we walked most of the time : the hotel is about 5km from centraal station. the walls are thin but we got some nice quiet neighbours. you have to count on luck for that.

Cons: The six square meter twin room with shared toilet and shower in the corridor was an absolute rip-off for 220 eur a night.

Pros: Staff were friendly, reservation was accurate. nice area. less than 10 minutes by tram no.4 to city centre.
Cons: Room was really small even for amsterdam. very stuffy and sweaty with no air con. bathroom fan did not work, shower was very weak. do not stay here unless you are desperate.

Pros: It is managed well and run like a proper hotel, and despite the size of the bedrooms, i cannot deny that they and the bathrooms are impeccable.
Cons: Having backpacked a lot around east asia, europe and australia, i can comfortably say this was the smallest room i have ever slept in. i have never felt claustrophobic in my life, but i found this room uncomfortably small and had trouble sleeping.

Pros: Good price. breakfast very reasonable. good central location. internet access.
Cons: The area wasn't great, very run down.

Cons: Very noisy - slamming doors and thin walls
